    摘要： Novel polyester compounds having a benzotriazole group of the invention are obtained by a ring-opening addition-polymerisation of lactones with the alcoholic hydroxyl group of 3-(5-chloro-2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-5-(1,1-dimethyl-ethyl)-4-hydroxy-benzene-propanol, 3-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4-hydroxy-benzene-ethanol, 3-(5-methyl-2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-5-(1-methyl-ethyl)-4-hydroxy-benzene-propanolbis[3-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4-hydroxy-benzene-ethanol]methane or the like. These compounds are used as ultraviolet-rays absorbents for thermoplastic resins. The resulting resin composition has an excellent light resistance and chemical resistance.

The encoder includes a reflection pattern arranged on a surface of the rotating body which is opposed to the circuit board, and a reflective rotation detection sensor arranged on the circuit board to detect the rotation of the rotating body by irradiating the reflection pattern with light.

    摘要： An alicyclic unsaturated alcohol (for example, tetrahydrobenzyl alcohol) having the purity of 99% by weight or more, the water content of 0.1% by weight or less and the acid value of 0.1 mg KOH/g or less can be produced, with high selectivity, by hydrogenating using an unsaturated cyclic aldehyde having the acid value of 10 mg KOH/g or less as a raw material; terminating the hydrogenation in the conversion of 70 to 99.8%; and rectifying the reaction product containing the unreacted unsaturated cyclic aldehyde. The high purity alicyclic unsaturated alcohol is useful as raw material chemicals for synthesizing drugs, agricultural chemicals, perfumes, and dyes etc.

    摘要： A binocular comprising a housing and a pair of first and second optical systems positioned on each side of a central line. Each optical system includes an object lens and ocular lens arranged at a front part and at a rear part of the housing respectively. Further, a light admitting window is placed on the central line between the first and second optical systems for admitting light from an object. A detection module, provided independently of the first and second optical systems is used to output electrical signals which represent the distance to the object. The detection module may include an optical path deflecting means for z-shapely deflecting the light from the light admitting window and for directing the light to a sensor. The binocular is compact and has a hand grip that is designed in order to be holdable and focusable by the use of a single hand.
