Abstract: A gas-phase aldehyde hydrogenation catalyst, a preparation method thereof and an application thereof, where the preparation method includes: mixing an aluminum salt, a first zinc salt, silica sol, a first precipitant and water, and performing a first aging treatment to obtain a first mixed solution; mixing a copper salt, a second zinc salt, a zinc powder and water, and performing an ultrasonic treatment to obtain a second mixed solution; mixing the first mixed solution, the second mixed solution and a second precipitant, and performing a second aging treatment to obtain a third mixed solution; adding boric acid into the third mixed solution, and performing a third aging treatment to obtain a fourth mixed solution; filtering the fourth mixed solution, and sequentially drying and roasting the obtained solid product to obtain a catalyst precursor; mixing and molding the catalyst precursor with a graphite to obtain a gas-phase aldehyde hydrogenation catalyst.

The method includes: transporting a raw material of a xylose mother liquid in a raw material tank to a filter for filtering impurities to obtain a filtered raw material of the xylose mother liquid, and transporting the filtered raw material of the xylose mother liquid to a nanofiltration membrane device to obtain a decolorized xylose mother liquid; transporting the decolorized xylose mother liquid to a first ion exchange device to obtain an ion exchange liquid; and transporting the ion exchange liquid to a chromatographic separation device and obtaining an extracted liquid and a raffinate liquid; performing a refined hydrogenation process on the extracted liquid through a refined hydrogenation assembly to obtain a crystal xylitol, and performing a browning reaction process on the raffinate liquid through a browning reaction assembly to obtain the caramel pigment.

Abstract: A feed mixture comprising at least one C3 olefin and/or at least one C4 olefin may be contacted with a zeolite catalyst under oligomerization reaction conditions to form a product mixture comprising a plurality of olefin oligomers comprising C12 and/or C16 olefin oligomers having an average branching index, as measured by gas chromatography, of about 2.2 or less, such as about 1.3 to about 2.0. The olefin oligomers may be contacted with a syngas mixture comprising carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of a hydroformylation catalyst to form a hydroformylation reaction product, which may be subsequently reduced to form a plurality of branched alcohols. The branched alcohols, in turn, may be converted into an amphiphilic compound, such as a plurality of branched alcohol sulfates.

Abstract: The present invention relates to processes for the vapor phase hydrogenation of aldehydes. In one embodiment, the process comprises (a) providing a liquid aldehyde stream to a vaporization system to generate a vaporous aldehyde stream in the presence of a weakly basic amine, wherein the weakly basic amine has a normal boiling point that is at least 50 C greater than the normal boiling point of the aldehyde, wherein the weakly basic amine reacts with acidic impurities in the liquid aldehyde stream to form ammonium salt adducts, and wherein the ammonium salt adducts and any excess weakly basic amine are removed as a heavies purge from the vaporization system; (b) combining the vaporous aldehyde stream with a hydrogen stream by either providing a hydrogen stream to the vaporization system, by adding a hydrogen stream to the vaporous aldehyde stream following step (a), or by a combination thereof; (c) providing the combined vaporous aldehyde and hydrogen stream to a vapor phase hydrogenation zone; and (d) hydrogenating the vaporous aldehyde in the vapor phase hydrogenation zone.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a primary alcohol composition of linear and branched C11, C13, C15, C17, C19 or C21 primary alcohols, wherein at least 50% of the branched alcohol chains are mono-branched chains with a branch at the second carbon atom relative to the hydroxyl carbon. Abstract: The present invention generally relates to processes for reducing the rate of pressure drop increase in a vessel used for hydrogenation of aldehydes to alcohols.
