    摘要: A video image evaluation equipment of the present invention is capable of converting circularly-polarized light emitted from a circularly polarizing light source into linearly-polarized light so as to transmit an absorption-type linear polarizer by a wavelength plate to be incident on a liquid crystal panel. This makes it possible to enter and reflect light emitted from the circularly polarizing light source on the liquid crystal panel without loss, which leads to display brighter video images than conventional ones.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method of producing a polarizing film having excellent optical characteristics.The method of producing a polarizing film of the present invention includes: forming a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layer 12 on a thermoplastic resin substrate 11 to produce a laminate 10; dyeing the polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layer 12 of the laminate 10 with iodine; stretching the laminate 10; and covering, after the dyeing and the stretching, a surface of the polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layer 12 of the laminate 10 with a cover film having a moisture permeability of 100 g/m2·24 h or less, followed by heating of the laminate 10 under the state.

    摘要: A method for producing a polarizer comprises the steps of: (A) stretching a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layer to obtain a stretched layer; (B) immersing the stretched layer in a dyeing liquid containing iodine to obtain a dyed layer in which absorbance thereof determined from a tristimulus value Y is from 0.4 to 1.0 (transmittance T=40% to 10%); and (C) removing a part of iodine adsorbed in the dyed layer so that the absorbance of the dyed layer decreases by 0.03 to 0.7, provided that the absorbance of the dyed layer is controlled so that it does not become less than 0.3.

    摘要: An aspect of the invention is directed to a method for manufacturing a glass substrate for an information recording medium including: a polishing step of polishing a surface of a raw glass plate, with use of a polishing solution containing a polishing agent and water; and a chemically reinforcing step of reinforcing the polished surface of the raw glass plate which has undergone the polishing step, with use of a chemically reinforcing treatment solution. The polishing step is a step of using, as the polishing agent, a polishing agent containing CeO2, and of performing polishing in such a manner that the effective amount of CeO2 per unit area of the surface of the raw glass plate to be used in the polishing is in the range of from 0.05 to 0.5 μg/cm2.
