摘要： An image forming apparatus for forming images on a recording medium on the basis of an electrophotography system includes a calculator for determining the quantities of state and quantities of control using fuzzy sets and for calculating, for each color, quantities of control. Each quantity of control corresponds to one of the detected quantities of state from a degree to which the quantity of state belongs to each fuzzy set. An extractor for extracting, in accordance with predetermined rules, a main quantity of control for each color in a specific position within the area represented by each quantity of control calculated by the calculator.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus performing recording by discharging ink from a recording head onto a recording medium. A conveying belt for conveys the recording medium by the attraction of static electricity, an electrode contacts the recording medium conveyed by the conveying belt, and a power source charges the electrode with a charge having a polarity opposite to a charge carried by the conveying belt. The recording head includes a discharge port and a control electrode formed around the discharge port. A voltage identical to the polarity of the surface potential of the recording medium is generated by a power source and applied to the control electrode to cause the control electrode to repel any satellite droplet of the polarity identical to the voltage that splits from a discharged ink droplet during the flight thereof.

摘要： Pharmaceutical compositions for treating gout or hyperuricemia and containing a new categorized compound, i.e. 2-arylthiazole derivatives, as an active ingredient, are provided. The 2-arylthiazole derivatives in the present invention are represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## wherein Ar is an unsubstituted or substituted pyridyl, thienyl, furyl, naphthyl or phenyl group;X is a hydrogen atom, alkyl group or carboxyl group which may be protected, andY is a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, or a hydroxyl or carbonyl group which may be protected.Furthermore, novel compounds included in the 2-arylthiazole derivatives and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are provided.

摘要： According to the present invention, an image forming apparatus comprises an image forming unit for producing an image on paper, a detector for detecting a plurality of parameters indicating a state of the image forming unit, a corrector for correcting the state of the image forming unit, a rule memory for storing rules for determining the relation between the parameters and the timing of operation of the corrector, and a control for controlling the corrector according to the parameters the detector detects and the rules stored in the memory. Therefore, even a simple configuration permits high-precision control. This reduces a time loss due to the correcting operation, minimizes consumption of development agent, and thus ensures constant gradation all the time.
