    摘要: A magnetic storage/read system includes a recording medium for magnetically storing a signal and a magnetoresistive element which is driven relative to the recording medium. The magnetoresistive element may include a substrate, a first antiferromagnetic film, a first ferromagnetic film, a first nonmagnetic film, a soft magnetic film, a second nonmagnetic film, a second ferromagnetic film, and a second antiferromagnetic film, wherein the films are sequentially layered directly on the substrate with no intervening layer between any of the films. At least one of the first antiferromagnetic film and the second antiferromagnetic film may be made of nickel oxide. The first ferromagnetic film and the second ferromagnetic film have a first magnetization which is fixed in a predetermined direction, and the soft magnetic film has a second magnetization which is rotatable in response to a magnetic field from the recording medium such that an angle between a direction of the second magnetization and the predetermined direction in which the first magnetization is fixed varies in response to the magnetic field from the recording medium, thereby producing a magnetoresistive effect.

    摘要: A thermal head which comprises an electrically insulating substrate, a glaze layer laid thereon, a heating resistor layer laid on the glaze layer, a plurality of first layer conductors laid on the heating resistor layer and provided at predetermined distances, a protective film laid on the heating resistor layer, and a plurality of second layer conductors counterposed to the first layer conductors and laid on the first layer conductors through an interlayer insulating film, where the interlayer insulating layer is in a two layer structure of an inorganic insulating material layer having a compressive stress and an organic insulating material layer, and the organic insulating material layer is positioned on the second layer conductor side. The thermal head as structured above is free from a problem of crack formation on the interlayer insulating layer, causing a short circuit and free from a problem of discontinuation of the second layer conductors.

    摘要: A surface coated hard alloy material suitable for use as a material of cutting tools, anti-wear parts or the like in which high wear resistance, oxidation resistance and anti-weld characteristic are the essential requisites, and a method of producing the same. The material has a substrate of cemented carbide, cermet or the like material, a first coating layer of a hafnium compound and directly coating the substrate, a second coating layer of a solid solution of a hafnium compound and a titanium compound and coating the first coating layer, and a third coating layer of a titanium compound and coating the second coating layer. These coating layers are successively formed in a common reaction system, so that the adherence between the coating layers, as well as between the first coating layer and the substrate is remarkably improved. Also, the advantages of the hafnium compound layer and the titanium compound layer are effectively utilized to provide a high wear resistance, oxidation resistance and anti-weld characteristic of the final surface coated hard alloy material.

    摘要: A lower magnetic pole front end portion is provided on a lower magnetic pole main layer, and then, an upper magnetic pole front end portion or an upper magnetic pole front end layer is formed on the flat surface so as to enhance the track width accuracy of thin film head. The height of the lower magnetic pole front end portion is increased so as to enhance the magnetic field intensity. A projection step portion having a width larger than that of the upper magnetic pole front end layer is provided on the lower magnetic pole front end portion. The unnecessary medium in-plane magnetic field can be thus reduced in the off-track position. The respective parts of the head are corrected, thereby realizing a high recording magnetic field intensity exceeding 716 kA/m (9000Oe).
