Abstract: Left front electric brake mechanisms apply a braking force to a left front wheel by actuating an “electric motor of a first left front electric brake mechanism” and an “electric motor of a second left front electric brake mechanism” controllable independently of each other. A first ECU (a control portion) acquires a target thrust force instruction value to be generated on the left front electric brake mechanisms based on a target braking force to be applied to the left front wheel. The first ECU (the control portion) outputs a first control instruction for actuating the electric motor of the first left front electric brake mechanism and a second control instruction for actuating the electric motor of the first left front electric brake mechanism according to a change amount of the target thrust force instruction value.

Abstract: A motor control device includes a first control unit and/or a second control unit serving as a control unit. The control unit outputs, to a first motor drive unit, a first current command for energizing a first winding set so that first torque, which is torque greater than torque generated in a brake motor by a torque command for generating requested torque requested of the brake motor, and which is in the same direction as a direction of the requested torque, is generated. The control unit also outputs, to a second motor drive unit, a second current command for energizing a second winding set so that second torque, which is torque based on a difference between the requested torque and the first torque, and which is in a direction reverse to the direction of the first torque, is generated.

Abstract: A motor control apparatus controls a brake motor. The motor control apparatus includes a first motor driving portion, a first control portion, a second motor driving portion, and a second control portion. The second control portion is connected to the first control portion. The second control portion has s self-diagnosis function not provided to the first control portion. The second control portion monitors a state of a phase current in the first motor driving portion. For example, the second control portion determines that the first control portion is abnormal in a case where the waveform of the phase current in the first motor driving portion is outside a range of an expected current waveform.

Abstract: Provided is a high-performance brake control device capable of effectively suppressing a vehicle body vibration generated during traveling on a road with a step or roughness. The brake control device includes a traveling environment estimation unit that estimates a traveling environment from a behavior of a first wheel that is any one of a plurality of wheels provided in a vehicle, and a timing calculation unit that calculates a timing at which a second wheel different from the first wheel is affected by the traveling environment, based on a vehicle speed. The plurality of wheels includes any one wheel that is controlled as for braking based on an estimation result of the traveling environment estimation unit and a calculation result of the timing calculation unit.

Abstract: A disk brake includes a brake mechanism configured to apply a braking force by advancing a piston in a cylinder portion based on driving of an electric motor to thus press inner and outer brake pads against a disk rotor, and an elastic member configured to bias the inner and outer brake pads in an axial direction of the disk rotor and in a direction away from the disk rotor. A biasing force of the elastic member is greater than sliding resistance of the piston on the cylinder portion. Due to this configuration, the disk brake can effectively prevent or reduce the drags of the inner and outer brake pads.

Abstract: Provided is an electric brake device including one caliper including at least two electric mechanisms each configured to apply a braking force to a vehicle and to maintain the braking force. The at least two electric mechanisms are to be driven by one drive circuit output, that is, one output from one drive circuit. In this manner, for example, even when it is required to control a large number of electric mechanisms as in a case in which the electric brake device is applied to a twin-bore caliper, the number of drive circuits for driving the electric mechanisms can be reduced, thereby being capable of reducing cost.
