    Abstract: A motor control device includes a first control unit and/or a second control unit serving as a control unit. The control unit outputs, to a first motor drive unit, a first current command for energizing a first winding set so that first torque, which is torque greater than torque generated in a brake motor by a torque command for generating requested torque requested of the brake motor, and which is in the same direction as a direction of the requested torque, is generated. The control unit also outputs, to a second motor drive unit, a second current command for energizing a second winding set so that second torque, which is torque based on a difference between the requested torque and the first torque, and which is in a direction reverse to the direction of the first torque, is generated.

    Abstract: An electric brake including: a brake mechanism configured to transmit a thrust force generated through drive of an electric motor to a piston, the piston being configured to move brake pads to be pressed against a disc rotor; a thrust force sensor configured to detect the thrust force transmitted to the piston; and an ECU for rear electric brake configured to control, based on a detection value obtained by the thrust force sensor, the drive of the electric motor in accordance with a brake command. The ECU for rear electric brake is configured to learn, as a reference point of a piston thrust force, a detection value obtained by the thrust force sensor when the electric motor is driven to move the piston in a direction for pressing the piston against the disc rotor in a range in which the brake pads are not in contact with the disc rotor.

    Abstract: Left front electric brake mechanisms apply a braking force to a left front wheel by actuating an “electric motor of a first left front electric brake mechanism” and an “electric motor of a second left front electric brake mechanism” controllable independently of each other. A first ECU (a control portion) acquires a target thrust force instruction value to be generated on the left front electric brake mechanisms based on a target braking force to be applied to the left front wheel. The first ECU (the control portion) outputs a first control instruction for actuating the electric motor of the first left front electric brake mechanism and a second control instruction for actuating the electric motor of the first left front electric brake mechanism according to a change amount of the target thrust force instruction value.

    Abstract: An electrically controlled differential gear is disposed between a right front wheel and a left front wheel of a vehicle. The electrically controlled differential gear includes a clutch mechanism that limits a differential operation of the electrically controlled differential gear. A second ECU (control portion) obtains information as to failure associated with actuation of a right front electric brake mechanism. The second ECU obtains a physical amount relating to a required braking force which is applied to the left front wheel and the right front wheel. The second ECU outputs a differential limiting control command for limiting the differential operation of the electrically controlled differential gear to the clutch mechanism (or more specifically, a differential ECU that controls the clutch mechanism) based on the information as to the failure and the physical amount relating to the required braking force.

    Abstract: A rear electric brake ECU includes a delay element. More specifically, the delay element is disposed between an arithmetic element of the rear electric brake ECU and a first switching element (an FET) for driving a solenoid of a parking mechanism. The delay element delays a signal for driving this first switching element. Further, the rear electric brake ECU includes a diagnosis device for diagnosing the actuation state of the arithmetic element. The diagnosis device is set so as to be able to shut off power supply to the solenoid regardless of the state of a signal (a driving signal) of the solenoid if diagnosing that the actuation state of the arithmetic element is abnormal.

The brake control device includes a traveling environment estimation unit that estimates a traveling environment from a behavior of a first wheel that is any one of a plurality of wheels provided in a vehicle, and a timing calculation unit that calculates a timing at which a second wheel different from the first wheel is affected by the traveling environment, based on a vehicle speed. The plurality of wheels includes any one wheel that is controlled as for braking based on an estimation result of the traveling environment estimation unit and a calculation result of the timing calculation unit.
