The organic compound and charge transporting material show both excellent hole transporting ability and excellent electron transporting ability and have satisfactory durability against electric oxidation/reduction and a high triplet excitation level. An organic electroluminescent device using the organic compound emits light with a high efficiency and is highly stably driven.
