    摘要: The invention concerns a measuring apparatus for checking and determining the flow shear stress of certain suspensions, principally blood, by a static or dynamic method and to thereby plot the viscosity of the suspension. The apparatus employs an internal measuring chamber comprised of a passage arrangement to simulate the natural microcirculation area wherein a network of capillary passages diverge from a main passage, with at least two of the capillary passages of different lengths, with a length ratio that can range from 3:1 to 15:1, with those capillaries connected to a source of variable pressure and extending past a detector unit.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method for testing different selected materials and/or surface structures for the culture of cells and/or microorganisms, said method comprising the following steps: i) providing a plurality of different selected materials and/or surface structures to be tested in the form of beaker-shaped inserts, wherein the beaker-shaped inserts are dimensioned in such a way that a beaker-shaped insert can be inserted in a substantially accurately fitting manner into a well of a multiwell plate suitable for cell culture, wherein each beaker-shaped insert has walls, a base, and an opening in the side facing away from the base, wherein the walls and base of the beaker-shaped inserts are liquid-tight, and wherein each beaker-shaped insert has a selected material and/or a selected surface structure, at least on the inner face of the base; ii) inserting the beaker-shaped inserts into wells of multiwell plates of appropriate dimensioning so that the outer face of the beaker base points towards the inner face of the base of a well of the multiwell plate; iii) culturing the cells in the lumen of the beaker-shaped inserts, and to a kit for carrying out this method.

    摘要: A wire matrix print head having print wires subject to wear at their printing ends are biased by return springs against one side of one end of armatures, the other sides of which bear against a gap adjusting ring. The other end of each of the armatures is spaced by a predetermined gap from the pole piece of associated electromagnets which, when energized, drive the armatures about pivots intermediate the ends of the armature against the bias of the return springs. The ends of the armatures are formed with a step on the side initially placed in contact with the drive end of a print wire so that when the print wires are worn the armatures can be flipped over to present the unstepped side in contact with a drive wire with the result that upon movement of the adjusting ring to restore the gap between the armature and pole piece the print wires are pushed to a rest position closer to the printing plane by the depth of the step.
