The information bits are segmented, and one or more coded blocks are generated by adding parity bits to each segment of the information bits. Segmenting the information bits includes determining a number of coded blocks to be generated using a reference value, and segmenting the information bits based on the determined number of coded blocks.

摘要： A channel decoding apparatus and method in a communication system using Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) codes are provided in which an encoded signal is received from a transmitter and decoded using a parity-check matrix. At least one of input orders and output orders of the parity-check matrix are determined so that same values are not overlapped in a column direction between the at least one of the input orders and the output orders.

摘要： An apparatus and a method are provided for encoding and decoding in a broadcasting/communication system using a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code. A weight-1 position sequence conversion procedure is performed on an initial parity check matrix. Shortening is applied on an information word. A codeword is generated by LDPC encoding the information word using a parity check matrix generated by performing the weight-1 position sequence conversion procedure. Puncturing is then applied to the codeword.

摘要： An apparatus and method for retransmitting a codeword packet in a system using Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) are provided. The HARQ retransmission method includes defining multiple mother codes, and selecting one of code rates of the mother codes as an initial transmission code rate according to channel condition, determining a retransmission unit for each of codeword packets coded with code rates corresponding to the mother codes and retransmitting corresponding codeword packets in units of the determined retransmission units every time there is a retransmission request.

摘要： A matrix multiplier multiplies the signal output from a first adder by an inverse matrix T−1 of a partial matrix T of a parent parity check matrix, and outputs the multiplication result to a first switch. The output of the matrix multiplier becomes a second parity vector P2. A second switch is switched on at a transmission time of the information word vector ‘s’, a third switch is switched on at a transmission time of the first parity vector P1, and the first switch is switched on at a transmission time of the second parity vector P2. When a puncturing scheme is applied to the parent parity check matrix, a controller controls the first and second switches to puncture the parity according to the corresponding coding rate.

摘要： An apparatus and method for coding a semi-systematic block low density parity check (LDPC) code in which an information word is received and coded into a codeword including the information word, a first parity, a second parity, and a third parity, based on one of a first parity check matrix and a second parity check matrix, depending on a size to be applied when generating the information word into a semi-systematic block LDPC code. A part having a degree being at least equal to a predetermined degree is punctured from the information word, generating the semi-systematic block LDPC code. The semi-systematic block LDPC code includes the information word, the part of which was punctured, the first parity, the second parity, and the third parity.
