    摘要： A method is disclosed for forming an epitaxial layer on a front side of a substrate formed of a monocrystalline material, using a chemical vapor deposition system. In this method, a plurality of gettering wafers formed of a gettering material are arranged in the CVD system, such that the front side of each substrate is facing one of the gettering wafers. Impurities present in the CVD system during formation of the epitaxial layer are gettered by the gettering wafers. Alternatively, a layer of a gettering material is deposited on a back side of each of the plurality of substrates, and the substrates are arranged such that the front side of each substrate is facing the backside of another of the substrates. In another embodiment, a layer of a gettering material is deposited on an interior surface of the CVD system. Impurities removed from the CVD system during epitaxial formation include oxygen, water vapor and other oxygen-containing contaminants.

The modules may be sized so that a child or adult requires two hands to move a module while in another embodiment, the modules may be sized so a small child can play with the modules at a desk or somewhere inside a room. The modules are either primary modules or secondary modules. Primary modules have at least one full aperture or at least one half-aperture. The primary modules have an aperture diameter that ranges in size but is sufficient to allow the connector part to pass through. The connector part may fit in any aperture diameter with or without friction. Secondary modules serve to support or work with said primary modules or connector parts.

    摘要： Disclosed is a fuel filter for removing sulfur containing compounds from an internal combustion fuel stream. In one embodiment, the fuel filter comprises at least one column comprising an adsorbent. In one exemplary embodiment the adsorbent is capable of removing sulfur containing compounds, especially sulfur containing aromatic compounds, from fuels used in internal combustion engines, especially diesel fuels. Also disclosed is an apparatus for extending the life cycle of a post combustion emission control device. In one exemplary embodiment, the apparatus comprises a fuel filter for removing sulfur containing compounds from an internal combustion fuel stream and an emission control device. Finally, a method for removing sulfur containing compounds from an internal combustion fuel stream is disclosed. In one exemplary embodiment, the method comprises passing a fuel through a fuel filter capable of removing sulfur containing compounds, storing the removed sulfur containing compounds, releasing a portion of the stored sulfur containing compounds, and sending the portion through the engine and into an emission control device.

An inlet baffle and an outlet baffle are disposed inside the liner body and mounted thereto.     摘要： A phase conjugate mirror comprising a photonic band gap light guide and a stimulated Brillouin scattering medium disposed in operational relation thereto. In specific embodiments, the light guide is an optical fiber with a high index cladding transparent at a propagation wavelength and a hollow or solid core. The cladding is microstructured silica and supports guide modes through frustrated tunneling photonic band gap guidance or Bragg photonic band gap guidance. The fiber has an array of channels disposed around the core. In one embodiment, the fiber is disposed within a stimulated Brillouin scattering cell. In this embodiment, the medium is gas, gel, or liquid. In an alternative embodiment, the medium is a solid disposed at the core of the fiber. The invention provides a means of guiding light with a gas filled or solid core structure with high guiding efficiency, high reflection back into the medium, without disturbing the polarization state of the light as it propagates.
