    摘要: An apparatus for generating a coherent laser beam from an emission of a series of diode lasers, comprising at least one row of source diodes and a system for transforming the primary light emission emitted by the source diodes into secondary coherent light emission, wherein the system for transforming the primary emission into secondary coherent light emission includes a hologram, which comprises an image of an interference pattern of the primary light emission and the secondary coherent light emission, so that when illuminating the hologram with the primary light emission, the hologram reflects the secondary coherent light emission and in that a mirror is provided in the path of the secondary coherent light emission, which reflects at least some of the secondary coherent light emission via the hologram to the diode lasers.

    摘要: A semiconductor laser apparatus includes a semiconductor laser for emitting a light beam. The semiconductor laser has, as an external cavity, a quadruple light wave mixing optical phase conjugate element for inverting a spatial phase of an incident light beam. The apparatus further includes a pair of pump light sources which are arranged such that a superimposed portion of spectra of wavelengths of three light beams including two pump light beams emitted from the pair of pump light sources and entering into the optical phase conjugate element and another light beam emitted from the semiconductor laser is narrower than the spectral width of wavelengths of each of the three light beams. This enables the laser apparatus to generate an oscillating output wavelength of extremely narrow spectral width.

    摘要: A phase conjugate mirror comprising a photonic band gap light guide and a stimulated Brillouin scattering medium disposed in operational relation thereto. In specific embodiments, the light guide is an optical fiber with a high index cladding transparent at a propagation wavelength and a hollow or solid core. The cladding is microstructured silica and supports guide modes through frustrated tunneling photonic band gap guidance or Bragg photonic band gap guidance. The fiber has an array of channels disposed around the core. In one embodiment, the fiber is disposed within a stimulated Brillouin scattering cell. In this embodiment, the medium is gas, gel, or liquid. In an alternative embodiment, the medium is a solid disposed at the core of the fiber. The invention provides a means of guiding light with a gas filled or solid core structure with high guiding efficiency, high reflection back into the medium, without disturbing the polarization state of the light as it propagates.
