    摘要： A system for distributing information comprises at least one content source (2, 3), at least one client (4, 5), a communication network (6), a distribution server (1), a profile data base (10) associated with the distribution server (1) in which client profile information is stored, and a target count unit (9) in the distribution server (10) for effecting a target count by comparing the client profile information of the profile data base (10) with target client information of a target count request sent from one of the content sources (2, 3). Information from one of the content sources (2, 3) is distributed to at least one client (4, 5) by means of the distribution server (1) corresponding to the result of the target count effected by the target count unit (9).

    摘要： A server computer for a data communication system and adapted to transmit a document via a network, such as the Internet or an intranet, to a client computer in response to a request. The server includes an article memory for storing a plurality of article documents and respective bibliographic data; processing circuitry for receiving from a system administrator and storing an article document selection rule, and for retrieving from the article memory a subset of the plurality of article documents and assembling a table of contents-type document from at least part of each of the subset of article documents. The subset of article documents is selected according to the respective bibliographic data using the article document selection rule. Transmission circuitry is responsive to the request for transmitting the assembled document onto the network for delivery to the client computer.

    摘要： According to the present invention a communication method and a communication system/network is provided comprising at least one server and a plurality of user terminals. Wherein the user terminals can share information with each other and with the at least one server by means of the internet each user can be accessed by means of a unique address. Thereby a plurality of different unique addresses can be assigned to one user. A corresponding assignment information is stored in a table of the server. The assignment information enables the server to associate a plurality of different addresses for the same user. Respectively one profile can be associated to one of the plurality of addresses assigned to one user, the profiles containing characteristics of the preferences and/or interests of the associated address and being stored in a database of a profile manager. Respectively one home page can be created and associated to one of the plurality of addresses assigned to one user, the home pages being stored on the server. The server furthermore can comprise a group database containing different predefined groups, preferences and/or interests of each group as well as the user addresses which are members of the corresponding group.

A predefined action is associated by a notification server (29) with a notification. The notification is sent to a user terminal (3) and displayed on a screen (38) of the user terminal (3). The predefined action associated with the notification sent to the user terminal (3) is activated automatically by a response to the displayed notification at the user terminal (3), e.g. by clicking on a notification window on the screen (38) of the user terminal (3). A target address can be associated with a notification sent to a user terminal (3). The predefined action is activated addressed to the target address by the clicking on the notification window. Furthermore, a life span information can be associated with a notification to be sent to the user terminal (3). A data base (36) is accessed by the notification server (29) to store notifications in case the user terminal (3) to which a notification is to be sent is not in a logged-in state.
