    摘要： The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for programming a wireless handheld device and communicating between the handheld device and a programmer using inductive telemetry. The method may include the steps of activating a boot load mode of the handheld device, positioning the handheld device in proximity to a programming device, and downloading firmware to the handheld device from the programming device using inductive telemetry. The apparatus may include an inductive coil for inductive telemetry and a memory. The inductive coil is configured to be activated in response to inductive signals from an inductive coil of the programmer, thereby providing communication between the handheld device and the programmer. Communication between the handheld device and the programmer may include downloading firmware to the handheld device, and storing the downloaded firmware in the memory.

    摘要： A method of detecting lint in a clothes dryer is disclosed. Light is directed through a surface within the clothes dryer, the light being emitted by a light source. The light is received at a photocell if the light is reflected off the surface when lint covers the surface. An indication is provided that lint is present within the clothes dryer if light is received at the photocell. Furthermore, a voltage level detector is positioned within the lint detector and determined if a threshold amount of light is received. In another aspect, if the threshold amount of light is received a warning light, an audio speaker, or an electrical output can be activated. Likewise, the clothes dryer can be automatically shut down. In another aspect, the photocell is a phototransistor. In another aspect, the photocell is a photoresistor.

    摘要： A system and method for restoring a microprocessor-based system to a previously booted target state in which an image of memory and the processor registers in the previously booted state is saved and stored in a storage device. A restore routine executing in ROM retrieves the image from the storage device and restores the system memory and processor registers to the target state. An operating system return routine then returns control of the system to the operating system software. In an exemplary implementation, a system in accordance with the invention is incorporated into a microprocessor-based external programmer for a cardiac rhythm management device in order to allow quick starting of the programmer from a powered down condition without going through a time consuming boot process.

    摘要： The present invention relates to a wireless handheld device that is configured to communicate with an implanted device using inductive telemetry. The handheld device is preferably battery operated and includes a battery powered controller and a battery powered inductive coil. The inductive coil is configured to communicate with an inductive coil of the implanted device using inductive telemetry. The handheld device may include one battery voltage source that powers both the controller and the inductive coil, or multiple battery voltage sources to power the controller and inductive coil separately. In a single battery voltage source embodiment, the voltage may be amplified or reduced to meet the power needs of the controller and inductive coil. In a multiple battery voltage source embodiment, the voltage sources may be combined to increase the power output requirements of the inductive coil.
