摘要:
A hip, ridge or rake shingle is provided, having a high profile, by using various shingle layers to form a built-up wedge-shaped headlap portion, comprised of a plurality of layers of different dimensions in the headlap portion of the shingle, and the process for manufacturing the same from a single sheet of shingle material is provided.

摘要:
The present invention relates generally to the photovoltaic generation of electrical energy. The present invention relates more particularly to photovoltaic arrays for use in photovoltaically generating electrical energy. One aspect of the invention is a photovoltaic array including a first photovoltaic module and a second photovoltaic module, each comprising a set of linearly arranged features extending from its lateral edge, and an electrical element on its surface, wherein the lateral distance between the electrical element and the center of the linearly-arranged feature closest to the lateral edge is different in the first photovoltaic module than in the second.
摘要:
A shingle and a method of and apparatus for making the shingle is provided, whereby patches of pre-selected granules or combinations of granules are provided, separated by transverse areas of different, preferably darker granules, having slots centrally thereof, to yield the appearance of multi-tab shingles that are thicker than they actually are, with transverse shadow lines. A longitudinal shadow line is optionally provided, along the upper and/or lower portion of the exposed tab.
摘要:
Apparatus is provided for making a multi-layer shingle by cutting an anterior layer of shingle material to have a headlap area and a tab area, and with a plurality of tabs being present in the tab area, separated by slotted openings. The tab area of the anterior shingle layer has a predetermined design that has a repeatability in the longitudinal direction, or from one edge of a shingle to another in the right-to-left direction, which repeatability is a function of the length of the shingle between said left and right edges, as well as being a function of the number of tabs in the anterior shingle layer, with the repeatability being smaller or greater than the length of the shingle in the longitudinal direction. Thereby, the apparatus produces an ornamental appearance that has a random, natural-looking effect when the shingles are laid up on a roof.
