By blending thermoplastic polymers with appropriate fillers and/or recycled materials, a composition is produced that can be pressed into a desired shape, or that can be additionally mixed with oils, resins and/or waxes to provide a liquid that can be poured onto an appropriate substrate.

摘要: The present invention provides a method for providing a protective coating to a roof surface. The method includes the steps of: providing a spraying means and a liquid protective coating, the spraying means being configured to apply the protective coating; operating the spraying means such that the protective coating is applied to the roof surface beginning at a first row; applying the protective coating by performing the following steps; spraying horizontally at the first row; covering the roof surface with the protective coating generally uniformly; completing the first row and continuing to a second row that is below the first row; repeating the applying step such that the second row becomes the first row until the roofing surface is covered; and curing the protective coating for a predetermined period of time.

摘要: Some embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an roofing shingle comprising a low penetration point asphalt reinforced glass mat. In some embodiments, the reinforced glass mat comprises a glass mat and a reinforcement material. In some embodiments, the glass mat comprises a web of glass fibers. In some embodiments, the reinforcement material is embedded into the web of glass fibers of the glass mat. In some embodiments, the reinforced glass mat comprises a sufficient amount of the reinforcement material, so as to result in a nail shank shear resistance of 13 lbs to 17 lbs, according to ASTM 1761 at 140° F. Methods of making the roofing shingle and methods of forming a roofing shingle from the roofing shingle are also disclosed herein.

摘要: A roof system includes a roof deck including a rake edge, an underlayment, a plurality of asphalt shingles, and a one-piece metal apparatus. The one-piece metal apparatus includes a stem, an upper arm, and a lower arm that form an F-shape. The upper arm and lower arm of the one-piece metal apparatus are above the underlayment, and the stem is situated outside and adjacent to the rake edge of the roof deck. The stem, the upper arm, and the lower arm form a three-sided space to accept a thickness of the overlapping rows of the plurality of asphalt shingles. The end of the overlapping rows of the plurality of asphalt shingles are situated within the space formed by the stem, the upper arm, and the lower arm of the one-piece metal apparatus.
