摘要: An embodiment of the invention is a technique for power saving in mobile communication. At least one of a base station (BS) and a mobile station (MS) is initialized for power saving using a downlink (DL) status and an uplink (UL) status associated with the BS and the MS, respectively, during communication between the BS and the MS. A first PSC mode is entered when both the DL and UL statuses indicate a silence period. A second PSC mode is entered when at least one of the DL and UL statuses indicates a talk period.

摘要: A seamless handoff system and method reduces delay and packet loss during handoff of user equipment (UE) from a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) network to a Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) network. The handoff system and method performs pre-registration and pre-authentication processes before the occurrence of a handoff, buffers packets being delivered to a UE during a handoff period, and forwards the buffered packets to the UE after completion of the handoff, thereby reducing packet loss that can occur during handoff.

摘要: The present invention provides a method and a device for controlling contents of a user terminal having a touch screen, a recording medium therefor, and a user terminal having the same. The present invention relates to a method for controlling the contents of a user terminal having a touch screen, wherein, when a touch is detected on the touch screen while executing contents conversion, a part of the contents gets fixed on the basis of the detected location of the touch. Therefore, two or more contents can be easily compared using the fixed contents region as reference contents.

摘要: An apparatus and method for UpLink (UL) radio resource allocation in a wideband wireless communication system are provided. In a method of operating a Relay Station (RS) for UpLink (UL) radio resource allocation in a wideband wireless communication system, the method includes relaying to a Base Station (BS) a resource request message of at least one or more Mobile Stations (MSs); receiving data from the at least one or more mobile stations; if the received data is non-real time traffic, queuing the data received from the mobile stations according to a traffic type; and requesting the base station to allocate necessary radio resources by checking a queue status. Accordingly, a delay can be reduced when the UL resource is allocated to an relay station for real time traffic.

摘要: Provided is an apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving signals in a communication system. A base station allocates a quasi-dedicated control channel (QDCCH) to a first mobile station (MS), and allocates the QDCCH allocated to the first MS, to a second MS for a preset time. An MS receives a QDCCH allocated from the base station. If there is data to transmit to the base station, the MS determines whether the QDCCH is allocated to another MS different from the MS. If it is determined that the QDCCH is allocated to the MS itself, the MS transmits the data to the base station over the QDCCH.

摘要: A method and system for supporting Internet Protocol (IP) mobility of a Mobile Node (MN) in a mobile communication system. In the mobile communication system supporting Mobile IP (MIP) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), MIP location registration is performed in a Home Agent (HA) through a first FA (Foreign Agent) of a first foreign network in which the MN is located. When the MN receives a SIP invite message from a Correspondent Node (CN), it sends, to the CN, a SIP response OK message in which a home address of the MN is recorded. The CN sends a packet to the home address of the MN in a state in which a SIP call of the MN is established. The number of signaling messages and a delay time associated with a handover can be reduced, because the CN sends packets only to the home address of the MN regardless of a changed location of the MN.

摘要: A technique for managing a packet to be transmitted to a Mobile Station (MS) that performs Relay Station (RS) handover in a multi-hop relay Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) system is provided. In the BWA system, a Base Station (BS) includes a controller for determining whether to perform activecasting on an MS upon receiving an activecast request message; a scheduler for allocating a resource by taking into consideration a channel condition between the MS and a serving RS when activecasting is determined to be performed; and a transmitter for multicasting a packet, which is to be transmitted to the MS, to a target RS and the serving RS by using the allocated resource.
