Abstract: An installation for supplying gas to a patient, comprises an NO delivery device, an NO injection line with a valve device, a backup line that connects to the injection line and comprises a backup solenoid valve and a flow rate control device, and control means; and a medical ventilator that supplies a respiratory gas to a patient circuit to which the NO delivery device is connected. A flow rate sensor supplies the control means with a measurement signal of the gas flow rate in the patient circuit. In the event of interruption of reception of the measurement signal, the backup solenoid valve switches to an open position, the valve device switches to a closed position and the flow rate control device supplies the NO/N2 mixture at a pre-regulated backup flow rate, determined on the basis of the measurement signal supplied by the flow rate sensor, before said interruption.

Abstract: Disclosed is a cartridge for storing pressurized gas, including a main body with an internal volume for storing a gaseous mixture NO/N2, and a distribution valve for controlling the output of the gas. The internal volume of the main body is less than 1000 ml. The concentration of NO in the gaseous mixture NO/N2 is between 15000 and 25000 ppmv. The gas pressure in the internal volume is below 15 bar, measured at 23° C. Installation for delivering gas to a patient, including such a gas cartridge, a NO supply device fed by the gas cartridge, and a medical ventilator feeding a patient circuit which has an inhalation branch fed by the NO supply device. Use for treating patients suffering from pulmonary hypertension or hypoxia.

Abstract: Disclosed is an NO delivery device for supplying an NO-containing gas, including an NO injection line, a flow rate measurement device and a valve device. The valve device is normally closed. An emergency line connected to the injection line includes an emergency solenoid valve, which is normally open, and a flow rate control device. An operating unit operates these elements. In the event of malfunction of the operating unit, the emergency solenoid valve passes to an open position, whilst the valve device passes to a closed position. The flow rate control device supplies the gas at a pre-fixed emergency flow rate of gas, determined on the basis of the gas flow rate measurements supplied by the flow rate measurement device during the normal functioning of the device prior to the malfunction. Gas supply installation including such an NO delivery device and a medical ventilator.

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for supplying NO (1), such as an NO/N2 gaseous mixture, comprising a main gas circuit (40; 40.1, 40.2) with flow rate control means (42, 43) comprising at least one main solenoid valve (42) operated by the operating means (50) in order to control the flow rate of NO/N2 mixture passing through said at least one main solenoid valve (42). The main solenoid valve (42) is a proportional solenoid valve having degrees of opening of between 0 and 100%, and is configured to function in at least two given operating ranges corresponding to different degrees of opening of the main solenoid valve (42). The operating means (50) are configured to control the main solenoid valve (42) in pulsed mode in one of the operating ranges so as to deliver successive gas pulses (IG) and in proportional mode in another operating range.
