摘要: Apparatus and methods detect sleep disordering events. The apparatus may be configured to access one or more physiological signals generated by one or more sensors. The apparatus may be configured to detect, from the one or more physiological signals, seed events suggestive of sleep disordering events. The apparatus may be configured to compute features indicative of patterns within portions of the one or more physiological signals that are associated with the detected seed events. The apparatus may be configured to apply to a classifier, the computed features indicative of patterns of the seed events. The classifier may be trained to compute a degree of fit of the computed features to learned repetitive patterns of sleep disordering events. The apparatus may be configured to output an identification of sleep disordering event(s) corresponding with the seed events based on the computed degree of fit determined by the classifier.

摘要: An exchanger conduit permits temperature and/or humidity conditioning of a gas for a patient respiratory interface. In an example embodiment, a conduit has a first channel and a second channel where the first channel is configured to conduct an inspiratory gas and the second channel configured to conduct an expiratory gas. An exchanger is positioned along the first channel and the second channel to separate the first channel and the second channel. The exchanger is configured to transfer a component (e.g., temperature or humidity) of the gas of the second channel to the gas of the first channel. In some embodiments, an optional flow resistor may be implemented to permit venting at pressures above atmospheric pressure so as to allow pressure stenting of a patient respiratory system without a substantial direct flow from a flow generator of respiratory treatment apparatus to the patient during patient expiration.

摘要: A ventilator includes electronic control circuitry configured to control a supply of breathing gas for a plurality of respiratory cycles, measure a volume received by the patient in each of the plurality of respiratory cycles, and determine, for each cycle of the plurality of respiratory cycles, a cycle score corresponding to a deviation between the volume of the cycle and a predetermined target volume. The determined cycle score can be selected from a predetermined number of cycle scores that span positive and negative numbers based on the deviation. A pressure step value can be determined based on a plurality of cycle scores corresponding to the plurality of respiratory cycles, and a current pressure of the breathing gas is adjusted by an amount corresponding to the determined pressure step value. The pressure step value may be generated by dividing a sum of the plurality of cycle scores by a sample size.

摘要: A respiratory assistance apparatus has a gases inlet configured to receive a supply of gases, a blower unit configured to generate a pressurised gases stream from the supply of gases; a humidification unit configured to heat and humidify the pressurised gases stream; and a gases outlet for the heated and humidified gases stream. A flow path for the gases stream extends through the respiratory device from the gases inlet through the blower unit and humidification unit to the gases outlet. A sensor assembly is provided in the flow path before the humidification unit. The sensor assembly has an ultrasound gas composition sensor system for sensing one or more gas concentrations within the gases stream.

摘要: A respiratory treatment apparatus provides respiratory treatment with improved power management control to permit more efficient power consumption and power supply units, such as battery powered operation. In one embodiment, power management prioritizes the flow generator (104) over other accessories such as the heating elements (111, 135) of a humidifier (112) and/or a delivery tube. The flow generator may control operations of the heating elements as a function of a detected respiratory cycle. For example, the timing of operation of the heating elements may be interleaved with the portion of an inspiratory phase of the respiratory cycle to permit the flow generator to operate during a peak power operation without a power drain or with a lower power drain from these components. Operations of distinct sets of components of the system (e.g., different heating elements) may also be interleaved to prevent simultaneous peak power operations.

摘要: A gases flow rate sensing system may be configured to operate in at least two different target temperature modes, based upon a measured temperature of the gases flow. In some embodiments, the gases flow sensing system may have a voltage divider containing a thermistor. The gases flow rate may be determined based upon a voltage output indicating an amount of power needed to maintain the thermistor at a target temperature as specified by the target temperature mode, and a measured temperature of the gases flow.

摘要: A respiratory interface assembly includes a patient interface and a headgear arrangement. A seal or cushion of the interface assembly can include thickened portions positioned and arranged to improve sealing and/or user comfort. The headgear arrangement can be connectable to the nasal mask by a connection arrangement configured to provide stability to the nasal mask such that a forehead support is not required. The connection arrangement can inhibit or prevent improper connections. The headgear arrangement can have one or more resilient straps having a composite construction of an outer fabric and a plastic core. The outer fabric can be knitted. A rear portion of the headgear arrangement can include a knitted panel or a spacer fabric panel.

摘要: A measurement device and a method for monitoring a condition of a patient are provided. The measurement device includes: a gas-guide apparatus, configured to operatively connect between an medical gas provider and a patient side of the measurement device, and deliver medical gas from the medical gas provider to the patient; and at least one sensing apparatus, placed on an outer surface of the gas-guide apparatus and configured to detect real-time measurement data of the medical gas passing through the gas-guide apparatus. In this way, the at least one sensing apparatus is placed on the outer surface of the gas-guide apparatus, since the measurement data is a relative value which indicates a change of internal environment of the gas-guide apparatus, this can also avoid a problem of contamination compared with setting a sensor inside a respiratory device, thus improving the security of the measurement.

摘要: Devices and methods for allowing for improved assisted ventilation of a patient. The methods and devices provide a number of benefits over conventional approaches for assisted ventilation. For example, the methods and devices described herein permit blind insertion of a device that can allow ventilation regardless of whether the device is positioned within a trachea or an esophagus. In addition, the methods and device allow for timed delivery of ventilations based on a condition of a thoracic cavity to increase the amount and efficiency of blood flow during a resuscitation procedure.

摘要: Systems and methods for controlling breathing of a patient to maintain specified levels of CO2 in arterial blood. In one exemplary embodiment a respiratory conduit is configured to be coupled at one end to a patient interface device that is, in turn, coupled to the patient's breathing airway. The respiratory conduit is configured at the opposing end to be coupled to a pressurized air generating device. A control device is positioned in the respiratory conduit between the patient interface device and the pressurized air generating device and includes one or more vent apertures that allow a predetermined amount of exhaled air from the patient to escape from the respiratory conduit while retaining a predetermined fraction of the exhaled air to reintroduce to the patient during the next inhale. In this manner the system provides for a predetermined percentage of CO2 to be rebreathed by the patient.
