    Abstract: A communication device and a method for determining an information from a second device including setting an initial beamforming pattern is provided. The initial beamforming pattern includes a beamforming direction and a corresponding beamforming area for each of the plurality of antenna ports, including determining a concerned direction interval based on overlapping beamforming areas of adjacent pairs of the plurality of antenna ports, receiving a signal from the second device, measuring a signal gain from the signal on each of the plurality of antenna ports, determining which concerned direction interval the second device occupies based on an antenna port having the highest signal gain and on one of the adjacent pair of antenna ports to the antenna port having the highest signal gain having a higher signal gain, and determining the information from the second device based on the determined concerned direction interval.

    Abstract: A communication circuit arrangement includes a first kernel dimension filter circuit configured to apply a first kernel dimension filter to a first input signal to estimate a first kernel dimension interference signal from a first amplifier, a second kernel dimension filter circuit configured to apply a second kernel dimension filter to a second input signal to estimate a second kernel dimension interference signal from a second amplifier, a joint delay tap dimension filter configured to apply a joint delay tap dimension filter to a combination of the first kernel dimension interference signal and the second kernel dimension interference signal to obtain an estimated joint interference signal, and a cancelation circuit configured to remove the estimated joint interference signal from a received signal to obtain a clean signal.

    Abstract: Access to unlicensed bands is typically preceded by a LBT or CCA mechanism, through which the transmitter determines the presence of ongoing transmissions in the same channel. Specifically, an AP or STA (prior to transmitting) senses the channel, and transmits only if the channel is adjudged to be idle. As mandated by the current IEEE 802.11 standard, the energy detected in the channel is compared with a predefined CCA threshold (signal detect threshold is −82 dBm and energy threshold is −62 dBm for 20 MHz OFDM transmission). This creates an RF-energy based guard zone around each transmitter and hence prevents any other transmitter from reusing the medium. To fully leverage simultaneous transmit and receive capability at an AP, it is desirable for the AP to simultaneously send downlink data to a STA while receiving UL data from another STA. However, with traditional CCA methods, the downlink transmission would be blocked.
