Abstract:
An apparatus and method for a power-efficient framework to maintain data synchronization of a mobile personal computer (MPC) are described. In one embodiment, the method includes the detection of a data synchronization wakeup event while the MPC is operating according to a sleep state. Subsequent to wakeup event, at least one system resource is disabled to provide a minimum number of system resources required to re-establish a network connection. In one embodiment, user data from a network server is synchronized on the MPC without user intervention; the mobile platform system resumes operation according to the sleep state. In one embodiment, a wakeup alarm is programmed according to a user history profile regarding received e-mails. In a further embodiment, data synchronizing involves disabling a display, and throttling the system processor to operate at a reduced frequency. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

An apparatus to collect firmware measurement data at a computing system is disclosed. The apparatus includes a plurality of agents, each including a non-volatile memory storing firmware executed to perform a function associated with the agent, verification logic to generate measurement data by verifying the integrity of the firmware and a register to store the measurement data, and a processor to execute an instruction to collect firmware measurement data from each of the plurality of agents.

Methods, apparatuses and storage medium associated with navigation service are disclosed. In various embodiments, a method may include collecting, by a client mobile device, ambient barometric pressure information at a current location of the client mobile device. The method may further include providing, by the mobile device, contemporaneous navigation assistance to a user of the mobile device or for a user of the mobile device, assisted by a remote navigation assistance service. Assistance by the remote navigation service is associated with determining the current elevation level, based at least in part on ambient barometric pressure information collected by the client mobile device and by one or more crowdsourced mobile devices at the current location. Abstract:
Techniques and mechanisms for providing information to represent a course traversed by a mobile device. In an embodiment, navigation logic of the mobile device determines context data other than any geodetic data that specifies a position of the mobile device. With such context data, the navigation logic determines a sequence of estimates each for a respective position of the device on a course traversed by the mobile device. In another embodiment, determining the sequence of estimates includes determining a first estimate of a first position of the mobile device independent of any geodetic data that specifies the first position. Course information representing such a determined sequence includes timestamp information for the first estimate.

Embodiments of the disclosure implement techniques to create secure Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) identifiers. In one embodiment, a processing system is disclosed. The processing system includes a memory to store an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) key and a processing device, operatively coupled to the memory. The processing device is to receive the OEM key for an OEM system as input to a cryptographic hash function. A device key is produced by applying the cryptographic hash function to the OEM key and a global key associated with a vendor of the OEM system. The device key is provided to a security firmware device to authenticate the OEM system.

Generally, this disclosure provides systems, devices, methods and computer readable media for virtualization-based intra-block workload isolation. The system may include a virtual machine manager (VMM) module to create a secure virtualization environment or sandbox. The system may also include a processor block to load data into a first region of the sandbox and to generate a workload package based on the data. The workload package is stored in a second region of the sandbox. The system may further include an operational block to fetch and execute instructions from the workload package.
