摘要: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a method of stimulating a cornea. A non-limiting example of the method includes capturing a sound with a microphone. A non-limiting example of the method also includes transducing the sound to an electric signal by a microprocessor. A non-limiting example of the method also includes stimulating a piezo-electric element adjacent to a receptor of the cornea, wherein the piezo-electric element is positioned on an eye lens with an electric signal. A non-limiting example of the method also includes mechanically stimulating a receptor of the cornea with the stimulated piezo-electric element.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a system for sensing urine pH. A non-limiting example of the system includes a urinary catheter tube for insertion into a bladder of a patient, wherein the urine catheter tube includes an inner cavity. The system also includes a collection vessel connected to the urinary catheter tube. The system also includes a FET-based pH sensing device including a pH sensing surface and a reference electrode, wherein the pH sensing surface and the reference electrode have a surface exposed to the inner cavity. Such embodiments can advantageously provide a real-time, sensitive measurement of urine for timely detection and monitoring of the physiological condition of a subject with a miniaturized FET-based pH sensor.

摘要: A system for monitoring stomach fullness includes an ultrasound transponder configured to transmit ultrasound signals and receive reflected ultrasound signals. A processor is configured to process the received reflected ultrasound signals to determine level of stomach fullness and output fullness data indicative of the determined level of stomach fullness. A memory stores calibration data representative of calibrated levels of stomach fullness including empty and full. A stored program has executable codes to, upon execution, control the ultrasound transponder, compare the fullness data against the calibration data, and output alert data upon a match of a preset fullness level.
