摘要: An automated workflow services system can accommodate a wide variety of workflow scenarios. A composition service, a constraint service, and a tracking service can be provided to client programs. The composition service can support client-directed instantiation of actions for activity flows. Activity flows can be based on an activity model, constructed on an ad hoc basis, or a combination thereof. Actions can be added to an activity flow at execution time of the activity flow. The tracking service can track messages to and from the actions.

摘要: A personality-based theme may be provided. A prompt and an input indicating a personality may be received. Next, a voice font corresponding to the personality may be determined. The voice font may then be applied to the received prompt by augmenting the voice font applied prompt with recorded phrases of the personality.

摘要: An execution environment accommodating object-based software transparently monitors interactions with software objects to generate operational management information for managing programs executing at plural computers. Notifications are directed to a software manager in the form of events, which can additionally be provided to applications or user programs. The software manager can group the events into sets and derive various operational management metrics from them to provide an overall picture of a program's performance, including availability. A hierarchical arrangement feature facilitates gathering information for programs scattered over plural computers. An alert feature provides warnings if metrics fall outside a specified threshold. In addition, the alert feature can automatically subscribe to additional sets of events to dynamically select the information collected by the software manager. Since the operational management information is collected transparently by logic outside the objects, manual instrumentation of the program is unnecessary, and software management technology is made available to organizations without software management expertise.

摘要: Techniques and tools are described for transmitting beacon messages using a wireless communication protocol, such as the Bluetooth Low Energy protocol. In some examples, beacon messages can be generated in a compact format and included in an AdvData portion of a payload of a protocol data unit of a Bluetooth Low Energy advertising channel packet. A beacon message can be transmitted from a stationary beacon generation device and broadcast to an area within a transmission range of the beacon generation device, and mobile computing devices, such as mobile phones, can receive the beacon message and perform one or more actions in response to information contained in the beacon message, all while conserving energy used by the beacon generation device and the mobile computing device.

摘要: The subject disclosure pertains to separation of conflict resolution from a synchronization system or methodology. Upon detection of a synchronization conflict, a request can be generated by a synchronization component and transmitted to a conflict resolution component that is independent and detached from one or more synchronization components. The conflict resolution component resolves the conflict, generates a resolution response, and transmits the responses back to the requesting synchronization component for implementation, among other things.

摘要: A personality-based theme may be provided. An application program may query a personality resource file for a prompt corresponding to a personality. Then the prompt may be received at a speech synthesis engine. Next, the speech synthesis engine may query a personality voice font database for a voice font corresponding to the personality. Then the speech synthesis engine may apply the voice font to the prompt. The voice font applied prompt may then be produced at an output device.
