Abstract: According to an example, a communication terminal is described including a plurality of antennas, a transceiver configured to receive a message indicating a first antenna of the plurality of antennas that the communication terminal is to use as transmission antenna and a controller configured to determine whether a second antenna of the plurality of antennas has, according to a predetermined performance measure, a higher transmission performance than the first antenna and to control the transceiver to use the second antenna for transmission based on whether it has a higher transmission performance than the first antenna.

Abstract: A communication device is provided that includes a first transmission circuit configured to transmit radio signals with a first transmission power range up to a first predefined transmission power. The communication device further includes a second transmission circuit configured to transmit the radio signals with a second transmission power range up to a second predefined transmission power. The communication device further includes a baseband circuit configured to select a transmission circuit from the first transmission circuit and the second transmission circuit and to generate a signal based on the predefined transmission power of the selected transmission circuit. The baseband circuit is configured to apply the signal to the selected transmission circuit to be transmitted by the selected transmission circuit.

Abstract: An apparatus of user equipment (UE), comprises physical layer (PHY) circuitry, wherein the PHY circuitry includes a radio frequency (RF) transceiver comprising: a first receive path configured to receive RF signals from an enhanced node B (eNB) of a cellular network and down convert the received RF signals using a local oscillator (LO) receive frequency; and a second receive path configured to down-convert received RF signals from the eNB and to operate simultaneously with the first communication path; and processing circuitry configured to: determine that a configured transmission mode of the UE supports receiving data using a single receive channel and includes receive antenna diversity; determine channel conditions using at least one channel quality metric; and; disable one of the first and second receive paths during a portion of a subframe transmitted during a downlink (DL) communication according to the determined transmission mode and the determined channel conditions.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for gain adjustment in mobility measurements of a user equipment (UE). The method includes: selecting a signal stream of a plurality of signal streams received from a plurality of radio cells for mobility measurements; performing a mobility measurement on the selected signal stream based on a given gain; determining a gain update of the selected signal stream based on a received signal strength measurement of the selected signal stream; and if the gain update is outside a predetermined gain range, initiating a recovery of the mobility measurement based on the gain update.
