Abstract: Various embodiments are provided for providing byte granularity accessibility of memory in a unified memory-storage hierarchy in a computing system by a processor. A location of one or more secondary memory medium pages in a secondary memory medium may be mapped into an address space of a primary memory medium to extend a memory-storage hierarchy of the secondary memory medium. The one or more secondary memory medium pages may be promoted from the secondary memory medium to the primary memory medium. The primary memory medium functions as a cache to provide byte level accessibility to the one or more primary memory medium pages. A memory request for the secondary memory medium page may be redirected using a promotion look-aside buffer (“PLB”) in a host bridge associated with the primary memory medium and the secondary memory medium.

According to the method, it is detected initiation of a request from a first microservice to a second microservice. The first and second microservices are comprised in a plurality of microservices of an application. The request comprises an expected availability level for the application. In response to a current availability level of the application being higher than or equal to the expected availability level and in response to determining that the execution of the second microservice is unavailable, the request is caused to be routed to a simulated microservice of the second microservice. The simulated microservice is configured to return to the first microservice a dummy response to the request. In other embodiments, a system and a computer program product are disclosed.

Abstract: Capability orchestration in a cloud-native environment includes one or more new combined capability definitions generated by one or more processing units based on existing capability definitions and a combined capability manifest to form a hierarchy of capability definitions. A capability request directed to one or more capabilities can be received by the one or more processing units. One or more capability definitions corresponding to the one or more capabilities can be determined from the hierarchy of capability definitions by the one or more processing units based on the capability request. Deployable resources can be derived by the one or more processing units based on the determined one or more capability definitions. The one or more capabilities can be generated by the one or more processing units based on the derived deployable resources.
