摘要: Reducing time required to write a file to tape is provided. Synchronous processing is performed in a file system implementing a Linear Tape File System (LTFS) file format, wherein the synchronous processing includes writing, to a tape medium of a tape cartridge, index information and one or more files. A type of the synchronous processing is determined, wherein the type is either an index-MAM sync type or an index-only sync type. Updated information is stored to a media auxiliary memory of the tape cartridge in response to determining that the synchronous processing is of the index-MAM sync type.

摘要: An approach, for storing video data in a plurality of tape media via a ring buffer. A tape data splitter receives video data stored in a ring buffer. The tape data splitter writes the video data to a current tape media. The tape data splitter detects an end of tape media event. The tape data splitter responds to the end of tape media event, by switching the current tape media to a next tape media. The tape data splitter selects a resume point for the video data stored in the ring buffer and writes to the next tape media, the video data stored in the ring buffer that is subsequent to the resume point.

摘要: A technique of operating a system is provided that processes data with one or more data processing modules provided in parallel. A synchronization token is input into at least one data processing module that is in an operational state from the one or more data processing modules provided in parallel, in response to a request to change allocation of the data. The allocation of the data is changed to the one or more data processing modules provided in parallel, after the synchronization token is input. In response to the synchronization token having arrived at a data processing module at a later stage, the at least one data processing module, that stopped the processing, starts processing data after the synchronization token is input to the at least one data processing module.

摘要: A method includes, in a tape apparatus system, receiving a request to write a file from a host, and, in response to the request, dividing sequentially received data of the file into two or more segments. Each of the two or more segments have a predetermined size. The method further includes sequentially writing a series of the two or more segments onto one or more tapes, and determining the predetermined size based on a capacity use efficiency of a plurality of other tapes and a time to copy when a spanning file, written by spanning on the one or more tapes, is copied to the plurality of other tapes. A corresponding computer program product and computer system are also disclosed.

摘要: Provided is an operating method of a system including a first data processing module, a second data processing module, and one or more data connection modules that transfer data between the first data processing module and the second data processing module. In an operational state where the first data processing module and the second data processing module can process data input thereto, the first data processing module inputs trigger data to any of the one or more data connection modules, and in response to the second data processing module receiving the trigger data via the one or more data connection modules, the second data processing module changes a reading rule for reading data from the one or more data connection modules. Also provided are a system and a computer program product.

摘要: A method for detecting at a migration destination medium a change in data during media migration between write once read many (WORM) media according to one embodiment includes writing data for WORM from a migration source medium to the migration destination medium; holding an identifier (ID) of the source medium in a non-user storage area in the destination medium; and holding information indicating a feature of the data in the non-user storage area.

摘要: A drive-implemented method according to one embodiment includes determining that unthreading of a tape is to be performed, and in response to the determination that the unthreading of the tape is to be performed, determining whether to write an index on the tape prior to unthreading the tape. In response to a determination to write the index on the tape, the index is written on the tape prior to unthreading the tape. The tape is then unthreaded. The drive-implemented method further includes receiving a write request after the unthreading, rethreading the tape, and writing data corresponding to the write request on the tape. The index stored on the tape prior to the unthreading is overwritten with the data corresponding to the write request.

摘要: Provided herein is a computer readable medium having instructions embodied therewith, the instructions executable by a processor or programmable circuitry of a computer to cause the processor or programmable circuitry to perform operations comprising: selecting a first reference training data from a training data set based on a degree of difference between each reference training data in the training data set and a target training data; determining whether a degree of difference between the target training data and the first reference training data is below a first threshold; and determining whether to include the target training data in the training data set using at least a degree of difference between the target training data and at least one second reference training data, wherein the at least one second reference training data is included in the training data set and does not include the first reference training data.
