摘要: A redundant sensor system for predicting railway hazards including breaks in each rail, the location of the breaks, and determining when a railway vehicle has a flat wheel. Vibration sensors are distributed along both rails of a railway. Each sensor has a detection band at least within the sensing range of adjacent sensors and it is positioned such that the sensor detects vibration in both the horizontal and vertical axis of the rail. A central processor evaluates the data from these sensors and identifies the rail break, the location of the break, and the flat wheel.

摘要: A system including an implantable delivery device having a housing, a reservoir, fill and catheter access ports, and a denial device. The housing maintains the fill port in fluid communication with the reservoir. The catheter access port includes a septum between an inlet and a well. The denial device includes a pin, a biasing element, and a solenoid. The pin is arranged to be movable between a first position in which the pin blocks passage of a needle into the well and a second position, with the biasing element biasing the pin to the first position. The solenoid is operatively coupled to the pin and provides an energized and de-energized states; in the energized state, the solenoid moves the pin from the first position to the second position to permit access to the well. An external controller effectuating clinician control over operation of the denial device is also provided.

摘要: A multiplexing scheme creates multiplexed PPP packets and demultiplexes the multiplexed PPP packets to reduce packet overhead. A point to point protocol packet communication apparatus such as a suitably programmed processing device or other suitable structure includes a point to point protocol packet header compressor (600) (and/or decompressor) having an input that receives point to point packets (601), such as original UDP packets, and an output that outputs compressed PPP packets (602). The apparatus includes a PPP packet multiplexer (and/or demultiplexer) (603) operatively coupled to the output of the PPP packet header compressor (600), and operative to create a frame (604) containing at least: multiplexed PPP packets from the plurality of PPP packets (606, 608 and 610), PPP multiplexed identification data 614 and PPP packet delimitation data (612). To demultiplex the multiplexed PPP packets at a receiving end, a method and apparatus includes evaluating PPP packet delimitation data from the frame containing multiplexed PPP packets, PPP multiplexed identification data and PPP packet delimitation data; and demultiplexing the frame based on the PPP packet delimitation data to obtain separate PPP packets.

摘要: During reception of a higher-layer packet, segmented into lower-layer frames, a receiver will appropriately determine if a lower-layer frame was correctly received. If a lower-layer frame is not correctly received, and the maximum number of NAKs have been sent, the lower-layer frame is categorized as aborted. Once a frame has been categorized as aborted, the receiver determines an RLP frame corresponding to the higher layer packet boundary, sets V(N) to a next missing link-layer frame after a higher-layer packet boundary and pushes frames up to V(N) to the higher layer.

摘要: Drug infusion system capable of delivering a fluid medication to a patient and method for doing same. An implantable drug delivery device is capable of delivering the fluid medication at a programmable rate to the patient under control of an original programming cycle having a plurality of steps in a plurality of time slots beginning at a starting time. The programming cycle specifies the programmable rate for each of the plurality of steps. An external controller is capable of storing a program representative of the original programming cycle in the implantable drug delivery device at a programming time. The drug infusion system adjusts the implantable drug delivery device so that the original programming cycle will begin at a time during the original programming cycle adjusted for the programming time.
