摘要:
A system for managing and documenting a local area communications network is provided which deploys power sourcing equipment and powered devices by the use of active electronic modules, having an Ethernet controller and Power over Ethernet forwarding capabilities, as integral, managed components within the cable plant, to enhance management, documentation, security and emergency 911 aspects of the network as well as extending the physical reach of the network.
摘要:
An network management system (NMS) architecture is disclosed that takes advantage of intelligence capable network devices for network monitoring and control. NMS functions may be distributed where possible to intelligent devices where local storage and processing may be performed. Local collection and processing of monitoring information may reduce NMS-related network traffic, permit continuing local control and operation during times of network communication disruption with the central NMS, and permit greater reliability in data collection and execution of network functions such as the enforcement of security policy at the respective intelligent devices.
摘要:
A wire containment cap has twisted pair slots for routing twisted wire pairs through the wire containment cap. The twisted pair slots are provided with funnel-shaped entrances to assist in routing the twisted wire pairs from a rear end of the wire containment cap toward wire slots of the wire containment cap. The wire containment cap may be provided in shielded or unshielded versions, and is adapted for use with a communication jack assembly.
摘要:
Intelligent patch panels support patch cord management in communications networks. Modular patch panels can be connected to one another for the purposes of sharing power and also for the purposes of monitoring patch cord connections and reporting the status of patch cord connections to a network management system. Each port of an intelligent patch panel may be provided with out-of-band contacts to allow for monitoring and reporting of patch cord connectivity information. According to one embodiment, out-of-band contacts send identification information regarding their associated patch panel ports along a ninth wire of a patch cord.

An electrical connector with improved crosstalk compensation is disclosed. By including at least one coupling with a different frequency dependency than other couplings in the connector, crosstalk compensation performance is improved over a greater frequency range. The different frequency dependency may, for example, be used to compensate for phase shifts caused by distances between compensation circuitry and the plug/jack interface. Embodiments for decreasing these distances are also disclosed.

An apparatus and method for crosstalk compensation in a jack of a modular communications connector includes a flexible printed circuit board connected to jack contacts and to connections to a network cable. The flexible printed circuit board includes conductive traces arranged as one or more couplings to provide crosstalk compensation.
摘要:
A jack with a flexible printed circuit board (FPC) is provided. The FPC is connected to the plug interface contacts and has a compensation circuit to compensate for near-end crosstalk (NEXT) and far-end crosstalk (FEXT). Capacitive and inductive compensation in the compensation circuit are of opposite polarity and are substantially equal in magnitude. The compensation circuit has a FEXT compensation zone containing compensation for the FEXT. Inductive and capacitive compensation in the FEXT compensation zone are distributed.
