Abstract:
A detector for monitoring rotation of a target includes a sensor unit, a microcontroller, and an operator conversation apparatus. The operator conversation apparatus is connected to the microcontroller and enables setting of the detector in a working mode or a learning mode.
Abstract:
A self-adaptable proximity detector delivering a binary output signal for the presence or absence of a target. The proximity detector includes a processing unit and operates according to a short learning mode for an adjustment relative to its environment, according to a long learning mode for an adjustment relative to its environment and to a target, and according to a working mode corresponding to normal operation. The proximity detector also includes a variable digital storage resistor driven by the processing unit in the learning mode and connected to the detection stage so that variation of the value of the digital resistor causes a variation of the switching threshold. In the working mode, the processing unit is in a standby state and the variable digital storage resistor remains at its set operating value.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an inductive proximity detector comprising an oscillating circuit (1) excited with resonance by a generator (2) and comprising a detection coil (10) sensitive to a metal target (4) to be detected, characterized in that: the oscillating circuit (1) comprises a reference coil (11) arranged to present a mutual inductance with respect to the metal target (4) to be detected that is substantially lower than that of the detection coil (10) with respect to the metal target (4), the oscillating circuit (1) comprises a switch (13) able to assume two positions to connect each coil (10, 11) alternately, the detector comprises processing means (3) connected to the coils (10, 11) making it possible to determine the presence or absence of the metal target (4) close to the detector.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the anaerobic filtration of waste water includes a filter of filling material through which the waste water to be treated is passed from the bottom to the top. The filter includes upper and lower superposed layers of filling material separated by an intermediate layer of material. The lower layer is in the form of an ordered arrangement of the material thereof. The upper and intermediate layers each include a loosely packed arrangement of the material thereof.

Abstract:
A protection part comprising at least two layers including an outer layer and an inner layer has its outer layer made of an aluminum alloy that is reinforced with particles of SiC, the SiC particle content in said alloy lying in the range 15% to 40% by weight, while the inner layer is made of an aluminum alloy that is optionally reinforced with SiC particles, the SiC particle content within the layers increasing from the inner layer towards the outer layer. The part is for use in protecting the leading edge of a blade, in particular a blade or vane in a turbomachine, a helicopter blade, or a propeller blade.
Abstract:
A method of automatically and continuously labelling articles such as fruit or vegetables. The method consists in placing said articles in indented trays having parallel rows of indentations, in disposing the trays in single file on a continuously moving conveyor, said rows being disposed perpendicularly to the advance direction of the conveyor, and in moving at least one labelling head over a row of indentations with composite rectilinear translation motion resulting from longitudinal advance motion corresponding to that of the conveyor combined with transverse motion such that a label is placed successively on each article in said row, and then in renewing said operation for each of said rows. The invention also provides apparatus for implementing the method.
Abstract:
An optical signalling device has a partially transparent envelope (2), a substantially U-shaped luminous tube (10) containing a gaseous atmosphere being placed within the envelope and supplied by a capacitor (C) which is charged and discharged by electric circuits placed on a printed circuit card (17).Within an insulating casing (4) having an end-wall (13) and side walls (14, 15), there is placed and maintained a printed circuit card (17) which carries conductive tracks (38, 39) soldered directly to the supply terminals (36, 37) of the gas tube (10). The gas tube is placed in a plane substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the casing and has two portions (32a, 33a) adjacent to the ends of its parallel arms (32, 33) which are securely clamped between two resilient lips (44) forming part of the end-wall (13) through which they pass. The bent region (35) of the tube extends externally of the end-wall and is protected by a transparent cover (5) of the envelope (2).
Abstract:
A fluidized bed reactor for the biological treatment of a fluid includes granular treating material through which the fluid to be treated passes upwardly, thereby fluidizing the treating material, during which biological treatment is achieved. A homogeneous distribution of the fluid into the bottom of the granular treating material is achieved by providing a granular transfer material beneath the granular treating material, and introducing the fluid to be treated into the granular transfer material at a speed and under conditions sufficient to impart movement to the granular transfer material causing uniform distribution of the fluid and uniform diffusion thereof upwardly into the granular treating material at a speed sufficient to achieve fluidization thereof.
