The LCD apparatus includes an organic insulating layer partially formed in the non-display area. A portion of the organic insulating layer is not formed, obtaining a vent space through which to exhaust air trapped when a first substrate is combined with a second substrate of the liquid crystal display apparatus. The LCD apparatus may rapidly and easily exhaust the trapped air from the display area and uniformly maintain the cell gap between the first and second substrates, improving display quality of the LCD apparatus.

The electrical short pad part is formed in a peripheral area surrounding the display area and formed from at least one of the gate metallic layer and the source metallic layer to receive a common voltage. The short element makes contact with the electrical short pad part and has electric conductivity. The electrical short pad part includes a first metallic layer and a second metallic layer in sequence, and the second metallic layer has greater ionization energy than the first metallic layer. The electrical short pad part is exposed onto the surface of the display substrate. Accordingly, an extra cover electrode for preventing the electrical short pad part from corrosion may be omitted, so that static electricity is prevented from being applied into the display substrate.

An organic electrolytic solution and a lithium secondary battery employing the same are provided. The organic electrolytic solution contains an organic solvent and a lithium salt and the organic solvent includes 20 to 60% by volume of ethylene carbonate, 20 to 70% by volume of dialkyl carbonate and 5 to 30% by volume of a fluorinated toluene compound. The organic electrolytic solution has improved high-temperature exposure characteristic by virtue of the use of a fluorinated toluene compound having a high boiling point in combination with mixed solvents of ethylene carbonate and dialkyl carbonate. The lithium secondary battery employing the organic electrolytic solution is excellent in the high-temperature exposure characteristic, while maintaining good discharge capacity and lifetime characteristics.
