    摘要: An apparatus for detecting a phase error for a system such as a CD or a DVD having a multi-level input signal with an irregular zero crossing shift, and a phase locked loop circuit using the same. An A/D converter digitizes a signal read from the CD or the DVD. A phase error detect unit detects a zero crossing of the digital signal consecutively input from the A/D converter, and detects a timing error from a signal corresponding to the detected zero crossing. An error correction unit corrects a sampling timing error of the A/D converter by shifting a phase corresponding to the timing error input from the phase error detect unit. An apparatus for detecting a timing error having a tracking function reduces the amount of normal jitter and a dispersion value of the timing error in accordance with a signal to noise ratio.

    摘要: An asymmetric error correction apparatus and method, and clock recovering apparatus and data recovering apparatus for a system for reading data from an optical recording medium such as a CD or DVD that has a multi-level input signal and irregular characteristic of zero-crossing transition. The signal inputted from the optical recording medium is digitized, and a zero-crossing detector extracts four sequential samples and detects a zero-crossing point from the two intermediate samples. An asymmetric error detector judges an asymmetric state and asymmetric polarity of the digital signal from a sum of the two side samples among the four samples if the zero-crossing point is detected. A correction section accumulates the judged asymmetric polarities, judges an asymmetric error of the digital signal if the accumulated value exceeds a predetermined threshold, and corrects the asymmetric error of the read signal caused by an inaccurate pit length.

    摘要: Provided is a method for detecting frame sync and frame structure in a satellite broadcasting system, which acquires an estimated value for detecting frame structure and frame sync and overcomes distortion of correlation analysis values by summing differential correlation values for SOF positions in consideration of the variable frame length, and selecting a maximum value in a channel environment with low signal-to-noise ratio and high frequency error. SOF is a sync word indicating the start point of a frame. The method includes the steps of: acquiring SOF differential correlation value sequences; acquiring sums (di,t) of the correlation values normalized for SOF positions based on the number of symbols per frame by using the above-generated SOF differential correlation value sequences; and selecting a maximum value (dz,x) among the sums of correlation values, detecting z as a frame sync position, and detecting x as a frame structure index.

The frame synchronization apparatus includes a correlator to obtain a correlation value of a unique word of a receiver with respect to a symbol data stream of a frame received from a transmitter of the satellite communication system, a comparator to compare the correlation value to a predetermined threshold value, and a determiner to determine whether the frame has been synchronized, based on the result of the comparison by the comparator.

The apparatus for deciding the transmission format using the variable frame length includes: a frame synchronization acquiring unit for acquiring a frame synchronization of a received transmission frame; a correlation analyzing unit for performing a correlation analysis with respect to the transmission frame whose synchronization is acquired, considering frame lengths of respective frame structures; and a transmission frame structure deciding unit for deciding the structure of the received transmission frame using the analyzed correlation.
