摘要: Embodiments of a Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The gNB may be configurable to operate as a source gNB. The gNB may be configured with logical nodes including a gNB central unit (gNB-CU) and a gNB distributed unit (gNB-DU). The gNB-CU may comprise a gNB-CU control plane (gNB-CU-CP) for control-plane functionality, and a gNB-CU user plane (gNB-CU-UP) for user-plane functionality. When a handover of a User Equipment (UE) from the source gNB to a target gNB is performed, the gNB may transfer, from the gNB-DU to the gNB-CU-UP, a downlink data delivery status (DDDS) message to indicate that the gNB-CU-UP is to stop transfer, to the gNB-DU, of downlink data intended for the UE.

摘要: An apparatus of a RAN node in which flexible feedback for user data transferred between RAN nodes is described. The DL PDCP PDUs to be delivered to a UE is transmitted over an Xn or X2 interface between RAN and NG-RAN nodes, respectively. Feedback received allows transmitting RAN node to control downlink user data flow. The feedback contains a DDDS frame that includes a highest transmitted and delivered PDCP SN indicator parameter that respectively indicates whether a highest transmitted and successfully delivered PDCP PDU is present in the DDDS message and a highest transmitted and successfully delivered PDCP SN PDU parameter that provides feedback respectively about a transmitted status of the PDU sequence and an in-sequence delivery status of the PDUs to the UE. Buffered PDUs reported by the DDDS message are removed from memory as transmitted or successfully delivered PDUs.

摘要: An apparatus for use in a base station includes processing circuitry coupled to a memory. To configure the base station for 5G-NR QoS monitoring and reporting in a 5G-NR network, the processing circuitry is to decode a UE component of a UL delay measurement associated with a Uu interface. The UE component of the UL delay measurement is received at a CU-UP from a CU-CP of the base station. A DU component and a CU-UP component of the DL and UL delay measurements associated with the DU of the base station are determined. A DL or UL delay result between the NG-RAN and the UE is encoded for transmission to a UPF of the 5G-NR network.

摘要: Embodiments of a Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and User Equipment (UE) are generally described herein. The gNB may transmit control signaling to configure transmission of position reference signals (PRSs) by a plurality of transmit-receive points (TRPs). The gNB may receive, from the UE, for each of the TRPs, a set of signal location parameters (SLPs). The gNB may perform an iterative process to estimate a position of the UE. For a current iteration, the gNB may: determine a current estimate of the position of the UE based on a current plurality of sets of SLPs; and determine a cost function for each of the current plurality of sets of SLPs. The gNB may determine, based on the cost functions, a next plurality of sets of SLPs for a next estimate of the position of the UE.

摘要: Embodiments of a Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are disclosed herein. The gNB may be configured with a gNB-CU and a gNB-DU. A first paging message for paging of the UE may be received at the gNB-CU from an access management function (AMF) entity. The first paging message may include: a paging identity of the UE; and a paging origin information element (IE) that indicates whether the paging of the UE is originated due to a protocol data unit (PDU) session from non-3GPP access. A second paging message to page the UE may be transmitted from the gNB-DU to the UE. The second paging message may include: the paging identity of the UE; and an access type parameter that indicates whether the paging of the UE is originated due to the PDU session from the non-3GPP access.
