Abstract:
A process and apparatus are disclosed for treatment of crystalline, particulate phthalocyanine pigments, and particularly for green shade phthalocyanine blue pigments. To effect development of the pigment tinctorial strength by reduction of the pigment particle size, the pigment particles are repeatedly impacted against relatively fixed impact plates by entrainment in moving air streams. Repeated impacting of the particulate pigment provides significant reduction in its particle size and significant development of the tinctorial strength of the pigment. It is presently preferred that the impacting steps be carried out in conjunction with subsequent viscous grinding of the partially developed pigment. This combination of treatment steps has been found to provide a resultant product of significantly enhanced tinctorial strength, while at the same time affording significant savings in materials, process time, and energy usage.
Abstract:
A drapery hanger is provided for the detachable support in parallel, spaced relationship of first and second panels, such as a drapery material and a liner material. Thus, either the liner material or the drapery material may be easily and conveniently removed and subsequently replaced without disturbing the other thereof. In a preferred embodiment this is accomplished by providing snap means independently along the upper edges of each of the liner material and the drapery material and providing hangers with cooperating means for said snap means positioned to face oppositely with respect to each other and located symmetrically on opposite sides of, and close to, a central plane passing through the center of support of the drapery hanger.
Abstract:
A fuel dispensing system. The system includes a plurality of storage tanks for storing a plurality of fuel products; at least one dispenser; at least one pump for pumping fuel from the storage tanks to the dispenser; and a pump controller connected to the dispenser and the pump having a plurality of individual selectors for selecting a specific fuel product. In the preferred embodiment, the pump controller includes a plurality of individual selectors for selecting a specific fuel product; and an interconnecting expandable length bus for connecting additional station components, such as pump control devices, to one another. The system may further include an emergency stop system.
Abstract:
Cord guide, such as a pulley, and support therefor, for use with a liftable shade, as a Roman shade or a venetian blind. There is provided a pivotally suspended cord guide support for use with a liftable shade which will suspend the cord guide in a pivotal manner so that the pull cords may be held for operation at a substantial angle with respect to the wall without diminishing their effectiveness in operating the shade. Specifically, the cord guide is supported within a generally conventional clevislike structure which has a specially constructed head end adapted for pivotal support on and by a ceiling or wall attachable bracket. With such pivotal support, the clevis and the cord guide carried thereby, while normally hanging parallel with the wall, can be angled away therefrom to permit greater ease in pulling of the shade cords but without diminishing the accuracy or effectiveness of said cords in the operating of the shade. A lock and guides for the shade cords may also be provided if desired.
Abstract:
Traverse rod with decorative modular covering. There is provided a traverse rod having a basic rod structure of any of many conventional forms, together with a modular decorative facing, which latter is preferably of molded plastic material, the composite forming as a new product a traverse rod having the appearance of a carved wooden rod at a substantially less expense than that normal for such rods and further having the convenience, adaptibility and reliability of presently known metal rods. While the invention can be used with cut-to-measure traverse rods, it is primarily intended for and finds its greater utility with adjustable traverse rods. The facing material is formed in modular sections which are interlocked together end-to-end and fixed rigidly to the basic traverse rod for support thereon and rigidifying thereof. The operating features and support means are all those of the basic traverse rod.
Abstract:
A catalyst for the reduction of automobile pollution and a method for forming the same are described. The catalyst comprises a nickel alloy substrate having specified composition and a surface layer containing from 10 to 50% copper. The copper concentration varies from 10 to 50% at the surface to 0% within the substrate.
Abstract:
A petroleum dispensing system having a dispenser data distribution system with controllable disconnectors for improving on the conventional wiring that connects dispenser data circuits to the system's site controls. The system includes an emergency stop control system, emergency stop disconnects, data wiring terminals, a circuit for connecting and grouping data signals, and dispenser data disconnect and bypass means.
Abstract:
An electrical distribution computer panel for delivering and controlling power to a plurality of electrical circuits. The electrical distribution computer includes a unitary enclosure having a top, bottom, sides and a door. Located within the enclosure is a microprocessor having a central processing unit, a clock for providing a clock signal to the central processing unit, memory for storing an application program for the central processing unit and a remote communication circuit for providing communications to the electrical distribution computer from a remote device. Also located in the enclosure is an interface having a plurality of outputs and a plurality of inputs communicably associated with the microprocessor and a plurality of computer controllable circuit breakers having a circuit breaker input for receiving a circuit breaker control signal from the interface. A display for displaying information provided by the microprocessor is located on an outer wall of the enclosure. The display includes a display input for receiving a display signal from the interface. A keypad including an output for providing information to the interface is also located on an outer wall of the enclosure.
Abstract:
A disposable bait box with pre-moistened bedding formed of a single sheet bait box blank (20) having front wall panel (24), side panels (21), back panel (22) and four bottom panels (26), so as to form an escape proof container. Closure panel (38), seal panel (43) and closure lid (32) are provided to provide an escape proof upper cover. Bedding (11) is pre-moistened with non-chlorinated water and contained within plastic bag (12) from which it can be deposited into bait box (10) in order to prepare bait box (10) for immediate use with earthworms (13). Ventilation holes (23) are provided in side walls (21) and back panel (22). Bait box blank (20) is formed of biodegradable material and coated on the side which forms the interior surfaces with a biodegradable moisture barrier.
Abstract:
The traverse rod assembly includes an elongated hollow traverse rod having a pair of parallel channels each of which has a lengthwise slot therein, one of said slots opening downwardly. Plural hangers are slidably supported in one of the channels and they include structures pivotal about substantially vertical axes. Each hanger also includes additional structure cooperating with an elongated drive rod rotatably supported in pulley housings secured to the ends of the traverse rod. A master carrier is slidably mounted on the traverse rod and is operatively connected to at least one of the hangers to effect movement thereof in response to movement of the master carrier. The hangers are interconnected by a flexible strand which limits the maximum spacing therebetween.
