摘要: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a part, comprising the steps of chemically etching, in a wet acid medium, at least a portion of a surface of a substrate made of a monocrystalline superalloy, comprising at least one element chosen from rhenium and ruthenium, the substrate having a γ-γ′ phase, the substrate having an average mass fraction of rhenium and/or ruthenium greater than or equal to 3%, the chemical etching being done in such a way that the average mass fraction of rhenium and/or ruthenium over the portion of the surface of the substance is less than 2%, and a step of depositing on the portion of the substrate a protective coating having a γ-γ′ phase and an average mass fraction of rhenium and/or ruthenium of less than 1%.

摘要: A blade for a gas turbine includes a removed portion space, and further includes an airfoil portion defining the removed portion space, the airfoil portion formed from a base material, and a replacement component formed to fill the removed portion space. The replacement component is formed from a material that includes 50%-80% base material, 0%-30% braze material, and 0%-8% aluminum. A braze joint is formed between the airfoil portion and the replacement component to attach the replacement component to the airfoil portion and fill the removed portion space.

摘要: A process for producing an amorphous ductile brazing foil is provided. According to one example embodiment, the method includes providing a molten mass, and rapidly solidifying the molten mass on a moving cooling surface with a cooling speed of more than approximately 105° C./sec to produce an amorphous ductile brazing foil. A process for joining two or more parts is also provided. The process includes inserting a brazing foil between two or more parts to be joined, wherein the parts to be joined have a higher melting temperature than that the brazing foil to form a solder joint and the brazing foil comprises an amorphous, ductile Ni-based brazing foil; heating the solder joint to a temperature above the liquidus temperature of the brazing foil to form a heated solder joint; and cooling the heated solder joint, thereby forming a brazed joint between the parts to be joined.

摘要: A braze composition, brazing process, and brazed article are disclosed. The braze composition includes a MCrAlY alloy at a concentration, by weight, of between 50% and 70%, where M is selected from the group consisting of nickel, cobalt, iron, alloys thereof, and combinations thereof, and a nickel-based alloy at a concentration, by weight, of between 30% and 50%. The brazing process includes forming a braze paste, brazing the braze paste to a portion of a component, and shaping the braze paste to form a brazed article. The brazed article includes a component and a braze composition brazed to the component, the braze composition including a MCrAlY alloy at a concentration, by weight, of between 50% and 70%, where M is selected from the group consisting of nickel, cobalt, iron, alloys thereof, and combinations thereof, and a nickel-based alloy at a concentration, by weight, of between 30% and 50%.

摘要: A new pre-alloyed metal based powder, intended to be used in surface coating of metal parts. The powder is deposited using e.g. laser cladding or plasma transfer arc welding (PTA), or thermal spray (e.g. HVOF). The powder is useful for reducing friction and improving wear reducing properties of the deposited coating. Such coatings may also improve machinability. As friction or wear reducing component, inclusions of manganese sulphide or tungsten sulphide in the pre-alloyed powder may be used.

摘要: A high temperature, high strength Ni—Co—Cr alloy possessing essentially fissure-free weldability for long-life service at 538° C. to 816° C. contains in % by weight about: 23.5 to 25.5% Cr, 15-22% Co, 1.1 to 2.0% Al, 1.0 to 1.8 % Ti, 0.95 to 2.2% Nb, less than 1.0% Mo, less than 1.0% Mn, less than 0.3% Si, less than 3% Fe, less than 0.3% Ta, less than 0.3% W, 0.005 to 0.08% C, 0.01 to 0.3% Zr, 0.0008 to 0.006% B, up to 0.05% rare earth metals, 0.005% to 0.025% Mg plus optional Ca and the balance Ni including trace additions and impurities. The strength and stability is assured at 760° C. when the Al/Ti ratio is constrained to between 0.95 and 1.25. Further, the sum of Al+Ti is constrained to between 2.25 and 3.0. The upper limits for Nb and Si are defined by the relationship: (% Nb+0.95)+3.32(% Si)
