Abstract: A circuit interrupter having a first plate on which a stationary contact is positioned where the flow of electrical current through the first contact and first plate cause a magnetic field to form around the stationary contact such that an arc that may form in the vicinity of the stationary contact is urged toward arc extinguishing plate and vented out the bottom of the housing of the circuit interrupter. In one configuration the venting is formed as a split vent path to direct the venting of gas and debris in a controlled manner.

Abstract: A circuit interrupter having a compact design. According to some implementations, the circuit interrupter includes a conductor from a terminal to a contact having a portion that is angled with respect to the housing sides. This allows a fastener sleeve used to secure the device housing to be positioned closer to the center of mass of the housing, reducing the area of the housing. In some implementations, an arc splitter is provided which includes conductive plates that are angled with respect to the housing sides, allowing the area of the housing to be reduced. In some implementations, a terminal is designed to accommodate a connection without being doubled back, reducing the clearance required for the terminal and the overall area of the circuit interrupter.

Abstract: A circuit breaker bracket assembly has two generally U-shaped metal clips, each metal clip having a rearwardly projecting resilient wing formed therein with two forwardly projecting arms extending therefrom, each arm having an aperture which engages a nodule of a recess on a basal portion of a molded plastic cover plate. The molded plastic cover plate has a top face which has flanges preventing the cover plate from sliding through a panel opening. Abstract: A bracket assembly has rearwardly projecting metal wings mounted in a plastic cover plate. The circuit breaker is normally rear mounted in a panel. The cover plate is secured to the breaker with fasteners that secure the metal wings to the breaker housing. Abstract: A split housing circuit breaker having an auxiliary switch for connection to remote indicators that reflect the condition of the breaker has an actuator moveable between ON, OFF, and TRIPPED. When the actuator is moved between the ON and OFF positions, an auxiliary switch lever holds an auxiliary switch plunger against its bias to a normally-open condition for the auxiliary switch. When the actuator is in the TRIPPED position or reset to the OFF position after a fault, the plunger is allowed to extend and the auxiliary switch moves to the dosed condition. A trip lever sub-assembly includes an auxiliary switch lever that selectively acts on the plunger, a trip lever that selectively holds the auxiliary lever against the plunger, and a pin and torsion spring to rotatably interconnect the two said levers.
