The substrate can reduce the effects of the pressure drag by creating a turbulent boundary layer over the surface of the vehicle, moving separation points downstream where they produce less drag on the vehicle. An automated turbulator deployment system is also disclosed that provides improved aesthetics and can tailor the aerodynamic profile of a vehicle based on the current aerodynamic conditions.

A turbulator, such as grit tape, can be attached to the smooth external body surface of the vehicle to improve upon a vehicles fuel economy. The turbulator associated with the grit material reduce the effects of the pressure drag by creating a turbulent boundary layer over the surface of the vehicle that moves a separation point from a laminar flow to a turbulent flow backwards along the vehicle. The reduction in pressure drag reduces the overall energy needed to move the vehicle through the air, which improves upon the fuel economy of the vehicle.

An embodiment of a method includes requesting a real-time (RT) customer service record (CSR) request for a telephone number (TN) associated with a local number portability (LNP) order, the requesting occurring prior to a second CSR request that occurs as part of a submit process for the LNP order; receiving, in response to the request for the RT CSR request, a RT CSR response from a telecommunications carrier that the TN is to be transferred from as part of the LNP order; and validating data in the RT CSR response in order to prevent rejections of the data in the second CSR during the LNP process. The second pinch sensing element is in electrical communication with the first pinch sensing element and is coupled to the other one of the left side and right side of the closure member for sensing a pinch condition on the other side of the closure member and generating a corresponding pinch signal. Furthermore, one of the first and second pinch sensing elements also senses an ambient temperature outside the motor vehicle and generates an ambient temperature signal for use in controlling the closure member in extreme ambient temperature conditions.
