    Abstract: A display device has a plurality of color filters and a first light-shielding film formed in a matrix so as to partition a pixel. The plurality of color filters includes: a first color filter selectively transmitting blue light; a second color filter selectively transmitting green light; and a third color filter selectively transmitting red light. The first color filter has a plurality of island-shaped patterns arranged apart from each other along a Y direction intersecting with an X direction. In a plan view, an optical sensor is arranged at a position overlapping with a region between the plurality of island-shaped patterns adjacent to each other. The region has a first opening that is covered with the first light-shielding film and is formed at a position overlapping with optical sensor, the first opening passing through the first light-shielding film.

    Abstract: In an IPS mode liquid crystal display device, an interlayer insulating film is formed on a common electrode formed in a planar shape, and a pixel electrode is formed on the interlayer insulating film. The distance between the TFT substrate and the counter substrate is determined by a columnar spaces. The pixel electrode includes one comb-shaped electrode and a contact part. The tip of the comb-shaped, electrode overlaps the columnar spacer as seen in a plan view. The columnar spacer is present in, the area in which an electric field that allows the liquid crystal molecules to rotate backward occurs when a voltage is applied to the pixel electrode, so that the reverse rotation of the liquid crystal molecules does not occur, and it is possible to prevent the domain from occurring.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first substrate including a plurality of pixels, a second substrate opposed comprising a plurality of color filters and a light-shielding layer, and a liquid crystal layer. The plurality of pixels include a plurality of first pixels arranged in an oblique direction and a plurality of second pixels adjacent to each of the plurality of first pixels. The plurality of color filters include a first color filter extending in the oblique direction to overlap with the plurality of first pixels and a second color filter extending in the oblique direction to overlap with the plurality of second pixels.
