    摘要: A radio frequency integrated circuit includes a transmitter section, and a receiver section. The receiver section includes a low noise amplifier, down conversion module, an orthogonal-normalizing module, and a baseband processor. The low noise amplifier is operably coupled to amplify the inbound RF signals to produce amplified inbound signals. The down conversion module is operably coupled to convert the amplified inbound RF signals into baseband in-phase components and baseband quadrature components. The orthogonal normalizing module is operably coupled to obtain a 1st and 2nd coefficients that are based on at least one of power of the baseband in-phase components, power of the baseband quadrature components, and/or cross-correlation between the baseband in-phase component and baseband quadrature components. The orthogonal normalizing module then normalizes an orthogonal relationship between the in-phase components and quadrature components based on the 1st and 2nd coefficients to produce normalized in-phase components and normalized quadrature components.

    摘要: A method for accurate signal detection begins by receiving a radio frequency signal, which is then converted into baseband signals. The processing then continues by performing a normalized auto correlation on the down-converted baseband signal to produce a normalized auto correlation signal. The process continues by performing a periodic pattern detection on the down-converted baseband signal to produce a normalized detected periodic signal. The process then continues by comparing the normalized auto correlation value with an auto correlation threshold and by comparing the normalized detected periodic signal with a set of thresholds. When the normalized auto correlation value compares favorably with the auto correlation threshold and when the normalized detected periodic signal compares favorably with the set of thresholds, the down-converted baseband signal is indicated to be a valid signal.

    摘要: A method for generating a preamble of a frame for a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) wireless communication begins by, for each transmit antenna, generating a carrier detect field. The method continues by, for a first grouping of the transmit antennas, generating a first guard interval, and at least one channel sounding field. Continuing, the method applies cyclical shift prior to transmission via the first grouping of the transmit antennas. When the MIMO wireless communication includes more than the first grouping of the transmit antennas, for another grouping of the transmit antennas. For the another grouping of the transmit antennas, generating at least one other channel sounding field. The method proceeds by generating the first guard interval prior to the at least one other channel sounding field, and applying another cyclical shift prior to transmission via the another grouping of the transmit antennas.

    摘要: A method for feeding back transmitter beamforming information from a receiving wireless communication device to a transmitting wireless communication device includes a receiving wireless communication device receiving a preamble sequence from the transmitting wireless device. The receiving wireless device estimates a channel response based upon the preamble sequence and then determines an estimated transmitter beamforming unitary matrix based upon the channel response and a receiver beamforming unitary matrix. The receiving wireless device then decomposes the estimated transmitter beamforming unitary matrix to produce the transmitter beamforming information and then wirelessly sends the transmitter beamforming information to the transmitting wireless device.
