Abstract:
Valves for use with a pressurized receptacle are disclosed comprising a housing including an orifice for dispensing a fluid, a shutter disposed in the housing and movable along the axis of the housing under the action of gravity between a closed position in which the shutter substantially closes the orifice when the valve is in a predetermined orientation and a dispensing position in which the shutter releases the orifice, and at least one surface adapted to prevent movement of the shutter parallel to the axis of the housing over at least a portion of the patch between the closed position and the dispensing position.
Abstract:
A pressurized container (1) containing a fluid product to be dispensed and a propellant gas. The container includes a valve for dispensing the product that includes a heat-sensitive safety device (D) for opening the valve and causing the inside of the container to permanently communicate with the atmosphere when the temperature inside the container exceeds a predetermined threshold temperature. The safety device (D) includes a stopper (106) made of a material that is thermodeformable at the threshold temperature. The stopper closes an orifice (105) in an actuating stem of the valve when the threshold temperature is not exceeded, and opens the orifice when the threshold temperature is exceeded.
Abstract:
A dispenser for separately packing at least two components and allowing the selective dispensing of either component or both components together via a propellant gas is provided. The dispenser includes a rigid outer vessel and an inner container arranged inside the outer vessel. The outer vessel contains one component, the inner container contains the other component and the propellant gas is arranged in at least the outer vessel. A dispensing valve is configured to be placed in selective communication with the outer vessel, the inner container, or both the outer vessel and inner container, for example, via first and/or second feed orifices, and communicates with a dispensing path. A valve actuator is provided, the dispenser being capable, when the dispensing valve is in communication with the rigid outer vessel, of dispensing substantially only propellant gas so as to clean out the dispensing path.
Abstract:
A valve (6) including a valve body (7) intended to be fixed into a dished part (5) mounted on a can (1), a valve stem (12) which can move axially in the valve body, and elastic return device (18) for returning the valve stem to a closed position. The valve (6) is combined with a clack valve (C) which is sensitive to the action of gravity and capable of closing the outlet of the valve (6) when the container occupies a position which is away from its normal position of use. A micro-orifice (F) is provided in the wall of the valve body (7) in order to establish a communication between the pressurized internal volume of the container (1) and the zone of the valve (6) situated downstream of the shut off member (21) of the clack valve (C) in the closed position, in order to balance out the pressures on either side of this shut off member (21).
Abstract:
A system for dispensing a liquid comprises a receptacle and apparatus for refilling the receptacle with compressed air, the receptacle being provided with a filling valve. The liquid to be dispensed and the air under pressure are contained inside the receptacle separately in different spaces.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a packaging and dispensing device fitted with a dispenser head. The dispenser head is made at least in part out of a filled plastics material containing a filler whose density is not less than that of the plastics material, the nature and/or the content of the filler being selected in such a manner as to diminish and/or modify the operating noise of the dispenser head.
Abstract:
A novel automatic test measuring apparatus of the pendulum variety for readily and easily determining film and the like hardness is adapted to automate all the operations necessarily preceding the commencement of a measurement stage using, in connection therewith, a recording unit or printer to supply the operator with the numerical results of all the measurements without personal manipulation(s). In making a measurement, the necessary time count for passing from amplitude .alpha. to amplitude .beta. is effected by means of a photo-electric cell. This records the passage of a pendulum arm having a predetermined period during the time that the oscillation amplitude is higher than .beta.. The involved count gives the measured time necessary for the measurement. The automatic apparatus advantageously reduces error relating to each measurement and increases the number of measurements to be effected on one and the same test film to yield a vastly more reliable mean statistical value. Provision may be made to simultaneously test several films, either by simultaneous of successive mountings of a plurality of films whose hardness is being measured.
Abstract:
A tilting valve for dispensing a product from a pressurized container includes an opening/closing element with at least two inlet apertures. The opening/closing element is capable, in response to a force transmitted to the opening/closing element laterally to a longitudinal axis of the tilting valve, of moving from a closed position to a first open position in which the product under pressure is dispensed at a first flow rate. The opening/closing element is further capable, in response to a force transmitted to the opening/closing element parallel to the longitudinal axis, of moving from the closed position to a second open position in which the product is dispensed at a second flow rate different from the first flow rate.
Abstract:
Valves for use in a pressurized receptacle are disclosed including a housing and an orifice in the housing for dispensing a fluid, a shutter disposed in the housing and movable along the axis of the housing under the action of gravity between a closed position in which the shutter substantially closes the orifice when the valve is in a predetermined orientation and a dispensing position in which the shutter releases the orifice, and an absorber disposed downstream from the shutter relative to the direction of flow of the fluid, the absorber adapted to absorb a propellant gas contained within the fluid and for releasing propellant gas upon a decreasing pressure in the area adjacent to the absorber.
Abstract:
A take-up strip is applied to the element to be investigated, (for example the skin or the hair of a living subject), for a given time and with a given pressure; the side of this strip intended to come into contact with the element to be investigated is matt; the quantity of light reflected by the matt side of the strip is measured before and after impregnation with the greasy product: the quantity of the greasy product located on the surface of the element investigated is derived from the reflection measurement. The detection means is constituted by a phototransistor whose output signal is processed by an analog/digital converter associated with a programmable computer; the strip is disposed on a displaceable support. The reflection reading all along the strip gives a brightness curve in accordance with the location on the strip. For the hair, this curve reflects the greasy aspect from the root to its tip.
