摘要： A fastening and grounding apparatus adapted to be positioned against a channel of a metallic support frame member. A metallic bolt has a threaded shaft and an enlarged head portion at one end thereof. A metallic leaf spring has a central portion and a pair of opposing end portions, with the threaded shaft extending through the hole. At least one of the opposing end portions has a tooth projecting therefrom. The metallic leaf spring maintains the threaded shaft in an upright orientation extending from the channel. The tooth digs into a surface of the metallic support frame member to effect an electrical current signal path through the fastening apparatus to the metallic support frame member.

The system includes a pair of support rails secured to the outer body surface and at least one cross bar. The cross bar has end supports that are able to pivot. Attached to the sidewalls are a pair of tie-down assemblies that can be fixedly secured at various points along each of the support rails. A load bar assembly is also included that can be quickly and easily attached to and detached from the tie-down assemblies. When the load bar is not in use, the tie-down assemblies can be used in connection with external bungee cords, nylon straps or other fastening implements to help restrain articles within the bed of the vehicle.

When the cross bars are in the stowed position, the apparatus presents a significantly more aerodynamic structure that helps to reduce wind noise when the vehicle on which the apparatus is mounted is being driven. The cross bars can be quickly moved into the operative position via a latching mechanism disposed at end that can be released from a securing portion of one side rail and re-attached to a securing portion of the other side rail. Various embodiments are presented with different latching and pivoting mechanisms.

摘要： A bed extender apparatus for use with a truck bed of a vehicle such as a pickup truck. The bed extender includes a center wall having a pair of uprights at opposite ends thereof. A pair of end walls are pivotably coupled to the uprights and can be folded down over the center wall when the bed extender is not in use, or attached to sidewalls of the truck bed to place the bed extender in a bed extending configuration. The center wall is secured to an inside surface of a tailgate of the vehicle by a pair of mounting assemblies. The mounting assemblies allow the bed extender to be quickly slidably detached from the truck bed when not needed. At least one of the end supports may have a pivotally mounted locking lever and a pivotally mounted locking member operatively coupled together. The locking member may have an element adapted to engage the at least one structural feature in the support rail. Structure associated with each of the locking lever, a housing of the end support, and the locking member cooperate to prevent the locking lever from being moved into a seated position in a recess of the housing if the end support is not aligned with the structural feature in the support rail.

摘要： A fastening system especially well suited for use with solar panel systems that enables an electrical connection to be made between two metallic frame components that are secured together. The fastening assembly includes a spring clip and a threaded bolt that engages within a hole in the spring clip. The spring clip has a leaf spring like shape. The threaded bolt has a head portion shaped to permit it to be inserted in a channel of a frame member, then rotated ninety degrees, which flattens the spring clip and enables it to retain the threaded bolt in an upright orientation ready for use. After being rotated ninety degrees, the head is retained in the channel as well. The fastening assembly can be inserted into a suitable sized channel of a frame member at any point along the channel, thus significantly simplifying and expediting the assembly of solar panel modules onto a supporting frame element.
