    摘要: A thin film transistor array and method of manufacture includes a substrate, a plurality of scanning lines formed in a first direction on the substrate, a plurality of data lines formed in a second direction on the substrate such that each data line crosses the scanning lines, a pixel electrode formed at each cross-over portion between the scanning and data lines, and a thin film transistor also formed at each cross-over portion. Each thin film transistor has an input electrode connected to one of the data lines, an output electrode connected to the pixel electrode formed at the cross-over portion, and a control electrode connected to one of the scanning lines. The array further includes a gate short line, which receives a scanning voltage applied to the scanning lines, and a data short line, which receives a first voltage. A first static electricity prevention circuit is associated with each scanning line, and is connected between the associated scanning line and the gate short line. A second static electricity prevention circuit is associated with each data line, and is connected between the associated data line and the data short line.

    摘要: An active panel of a liquid crystal display having a thin film transistor and a pixel electrode arranged in a matrix pattern has a double gate bus line. On a substrate, a gate bus line, a gate electrode and a gate pad are formed using a first metal such as aluminum having low electrical resistance and a second metal such as chromium having surface stability. Then, a dummy source bus line and a dummy source pad are formed prior to forming a source bus line and a source pad so as to eliminate line disconnection due to the cracks thereof and to thereby reduce the defects of the active panel and the increase production yield of the manufacturing process.

    摘要: A thin film transistor (TFT) matrix substrate has a testing circuit that can accurately detect the breaks in gate lines and data lines. In a substrate, TFTs are provided to be connected at the intersections of the gate lines and the data lines. A first shorting bar is commonly connected to the gate lines and a second shorting bar is commonly connected to the data lines. A first test pad receives a first test signal to be applied to the first shorting bar and a second test pad receives a first test signal to be applied to the second shorting bar. A third shorting bar is commonly connected to static electricity preventing devices installed at the gate lines and a fourth shorting bar is commonly connected to static electricity preventing devices installed at the data lines. A third test pad allows the second test signal to be applied to the third and fourth shorting during driving testing if the gate lines and the data lines have breaks or damaged.
