摘要: Methods and systems for resource allocation in a wireless communication network are disclosed. According to an embodiment, a first portion of a communication resource is allocated by an access node to a first set of access terminals for performing voice communication and a second portion of the communication resource to a second set of access terminals for performing data communication without the statistical characteristics of voice traffic, wherein the allocation is represented by a group message indicated by a first bitmap and a second bitmap, for a group comprising the first set of access terminals and the second set of access terminals, respectively. A terminal in the second set of access terminals can be in an additional group comprising a third set of access terminals configured to perform voice communication through the access node, and a fourth set of access terminals configured to perform data communication without the statistical characteristics of voice traffic.

摘要: A method and system of allocating a bandwidth and a power for a wireless user. The method includes for an allocated bandwidth determining a transmission power and adjusting the transmission power based on whether a bit rate and an error rate associated with the transmission power and the allocated bandwidth satisfy one or more predetermined criteria. The method further processing information associated with the adjusted transmission power and determining a power level indicator. Additionally, the method includes determining whether the power level indicator satisfies one or more predetermined third criteria. If the power level indicator is determined not to satisfy the one or more predetermined third criteria, the method includes adjusting the allocated bandwidth from the first bandwidth to a second bandwidth for the wireless user. Otherwise, the method includes keeping the allocated bandwidth.

摘要: A method to provide timely and accurate control channel information to an Access Network is disclosed to facilitate power control and data packet transmission. Upon receiving a packet error from the Access Network, an Access Terminal transmits a Packet-Error-Triggered (PET) control channel information to the Access Network. The PET control channel information may contain the same type of information as those contained in the regular periodical control channel information. Alternatively, the PET control channel information may contain a different type of information from those contained in the regular periodical control channel information. The PET control channel information may be transmitted using channel gain higher than that used for the regular periodical control channel information to improve its reliability at the Access Network receiver. The PET control channel information can also be utilized to improve the performance of decoding the Reverse Acknowledgement Channel (R-ACKCH).

摘要: The invention discloses a method of optimizing soft handover between Radio Network Controllers (RNCs). The method comprises: (a) UE measuring signals of co-frequency neighbor cell to obtain a measuring result, and reporting the measuring result to a SRNC; (b) The SRNC making a handover decision to determine whether to make a soft handover; if yes, then determining whether said SRNC has right to dispatch common resources of a target Node B; (c) If having the right to dispatch common resources of Node B, said SRNC applying for required common resources of the target Node B to a specific functional entity that controls the common resources; according to status of current use of common resources of said target Node B, said specific functional entity responding whether the common resources are available, if yes, then establishing a connection between said SRNC and said target Node B, and initiating a soft handover within the RNC. The method makes handover complexity reduced greatly, and the handover reliability, stability and success rate is raised.

A method for transmitting information includes setting a transmit power level for a subset of communications controllers in a communications network, and transmitting information to a communications device served by a communications controller. The subset of communications controllers includes ad hoc communications controllers in the communications network, and the setting of the transmit power level is performed in a distributed manner. The information is transmitted at a transmit power level set for the communications controller.
