摘要: Systems, methods, and media for a client device discovering remote user interface applications over a network are disclosed. Embodiments may include a remote user interface client of the client device receiving from a content directory service server a code fragment comprising a uniform resource indicator and determining whether the uniform resource indicator is associated with a remote-capable application. Further embodiments may include, in response to determining that the uniform resource indicator is associated with a remote-capable application, engaging by the client device a remote user interface server and receiving by the client device from the remote user interface server one or more display control commands associated with the remote-capable application and displaying a user interface based on the received display control commands. In some embodiments, engaging the remote user interface server comprises switching from the content directory service server. Other embodiments are disclosed and claimed.

摘要: An audio stream is analyzed to distinguish silent periods from non-silent periods and an encoded bitstream is generated for the audio stream, wherein the silent periods are represented by one or more sets of canned encoded data corresponding to representative silent periods. In a preferred embodiment, one of the sets of canned encoded data is randomly selected for each silent period. There may be different sets of silent periods corresponding to different types of silent periods, where a particular type of silent period is selected based on some characteristic of the audio stream (e.g., energy level of the silent periods). In addition, the sets of encoded data may be generated from actual silent periods of the audio stream.

摘要: A method and system for cascading power consumption is described herein. The method may include providing power to a first sensor and a second sensor, wherein the first sensor consumes more power than the second sensor. The method may also include detecting the first sensor does not capture a sample of data. In addition, the method may include stopping the flow of power to the first sensor. Furthermore, the method may include monitoring an operating environment with the second sensor. The method may also include providing power to the first sensor in response to the second sensor detecting a sample of data.

摘要: Text that is to be synthesized into human speech is first converted into an intermediate form representation that describe the acoustic-prosodic resolution of the spoken version of the text. The intermediate form can be generated manually, or by an intermediate form generation program at a server computer, and later downloaded to client computers at their request. The client computers synthesize the intermediate form representation to audio for their users using a relatively simple speech rendering program.

摘要: One or more dynamically updated measures are generated for an audio stream. Processing is performed using the measures to distinguish silent periods from non-silent periods in the audio stream and the audio stream is encoded, wherein the silent periods are encoded differently from the non-silent periods. The processing is re-initialized during the encoding of the audio stream, if certain conditions are met. In a preferred embodiment, the processing is re-initialized if either of the following two conditions is met: (1) one of the non-silent periods is longer than a duration threshold or (2) an energy measure for the silent periods of the audio stream exceeds an energy threshold level.
