    摘要: A power generation system comprises a power source, a transformer module for converting a low voltage from the power source into a higher voltage, and a voltage-multiplier module for amplifying higher voltage from the transformer module. The transformer module comprises a number N of transformer units. Each transformer unit comprises at least one transformer, and each transformer comprises a magnetic core, a primary winding, and a secondary winding. Primary windings of the transformers in the transformer module are electrically coupled in parallel to the power source, secondary windings of the transformers of each transformer unit comprise a pair of output terminal, and N is equal to or greater than two. The voltage-multiplier module comprises the number N of multipliers. Each multiplier module comprises a positive and a negative input terminal, and a positive and a negative output terminal. Positive and negative terminals of each multiplier are electrically coupled to the positive and negative output terminals of a corresponding transformer unit, and positive and negative output terminals of the multipliers are connected in series.

    摘要: A system having an alternating current (AC) driven LED unit, an AC voltage regulator, and a controller is provided. The AC driven LED unit includes a first LED and a second LED coupled in reverse parallel. The AC voltage regulator is operable to receive AC voltage originating from an AC voltage source, regulate the AC voltage according to control signals from the controller, and apply regulated AC voltage to the AC driven LED unit, so as to enable the first LED and the second LED to emit light according to the regulated AC voltage. In addition, a method is provided for driving the LED by regulating the AC voltage. By regulating the AC voltage using the AC voltage regulator, benefits of restraining voltage fluctuations, reducing THD, improving power factor, providing dimming control, and mitigating flicker phenomenon can be achieved.

    摘要: A system having an alternating current (AC) driven LED unit, an AC voltage regulator, and a controller is provided. The AC driven LED unit includes a first LED and a second LED coupled in reverse parallel.     摘要: An electrochemical desalination system includes a first and a second electrochemical device and a controller. The first and second electrochemical devices each comprises a electrochemical desalination module comprising at least one pair of electrodes and a compartment between each pair of electrodes for receiving an electrolyte solution. Each of the first and second electrochemical desalination devices comprises a plurality of successive operation cycles. Each cycle comprises a charging mode of operation for charging each pair of electrodes and for adsorbing ions in the electrolyte solution on the electrodes, and a discharging mode of operation for discharging the pair of electrodes and for desorbing ions from the pair of electrodes. The controller is configured to control the system that the first and second electrochemical desalination devices have interleaved charging and discharging modes of operation. One of the first and second electrochemical desalination devices is in a discharging mode and the at least one pair of electrodes release electrical current, while the other of the first and second electrochemical desalination devices is in a charging mode of operation and receives the electrical current released from said one of the first and second electrochemical desalination device.
