This invention proposes a transmission data generating apparatus for use in a transmitter of a communication system, which transmission data generating apparatus comprises a redundancy data obtaining unit for obtaining redundancy data of information data which was transmitted to a receiver and was not received successfully by the receiver; a new data obtaining unit, for extracting new data, which has not been transmitted to the receiver; and a combination unit, for combining the redundancy data and the new data to form a transmission data to be subsequently transmitted to the receiver. This invention enhances the success rate of decoding the new data in primarily transmitted data and retransmitted data, and enhances system throughput.

The present invention provides method and apparatus for designing modulation and coding set of communication System. The method for designing modulation and coding set designs a proper set of modulation and coding schemes (MCS), based on probability distribution of the quality of received signal in the communication system, so as to optimize the whole performance of the communication system. The method comprises the steps of: acquiring the probability distribution of the quality of the received signal in the communication system; performing a calculation on the target performance of the communication system based on the acquired probability distribution of the quality of the received signal and a plurality of MCSs, to design a proper set of MCSs for the communication system, so that a region where the probability of the quality of the received signal appears more frequently are provided with more levels of the MCSs.

Disclosed in the present invention is a method in the Multiple Input Multiple Output system for obtaining downlink channel directional information. The method includes steps: a base station receives downlink channel directional information which is fed back by a mobile station during the feedback period, and determines the relation between an uplink channel directional information and the received downlink channel directional information; the base station also estimates the downlink channel directional information of non-feedback sub-frame by use of the relation, those non-feedback sub-frame are not fed back during the feedback period. Furthermore, a base station and corresponding mobile station in MIMO system are also provided in the present disclosure.
