    摘要: Magnetic recording media comprising a base and, applied thereto, at least one firmly adhering magnetic layer based on magnetic particles dispersed in a mixture of organic binders, wherein at least the uppermost magnetic layer additionally contains non-magnetic particles of precipitated silica having a primary particle diameter of from 0.02 to 0.1.mu., a secondary particle diameter of from 2 to 4.mu. and a pH of from 5 to 8.As a result of the incorporation of such a precipitated silica into the magnetic layer, the coefficient of friction between the latter and metals remains uniformly low even after prolonged use, and no stick-slip motion occurs.

    摘要: A process for the preparation of a magnetic recording medium by dispersing pulverulent magnetic material in a binder mixture which is dissolved in an organic solvent and essentially consists of an elastomeric polyurethane and a high molecular weight hydroxyl-containing polymer, with addition of dispersing assistants and conventional additives, applying a layer of the dispersion, to which a diisocyanate and/or polyisocyanate has first been added, to a base material and the solidifying the layer and crosslinking the binder matrix, wherein the diisocyanate and/or polyisocyanate is added to the dispersion and, before applying the dispersion to the base, from 15 to 55% of the NCO groups present react with the hydroxyl-containing polymer of the binder mixture.

    摘要: Magnetic recording media which have a thin backing coating and consist of a non-magnetic flexible base and a magnetic layer which is applied to one side of the base and comprises magnetic material finely dispersed in an organic binder are produced by applying a dispersion of finely divided non-magnetizable conductive and non-conductive solids and conventional additives in a solution of a polymeric binder in an organic solvent to that side of the base which is opposite the magnetic layer by means of a knife-coater, and then drying the layer, a high molecular weight organic compound which acts as a thickener being added to the backing coating dispersion.

    摘要: A method and an arrangement for detecting error signals in a magnetic disk drive apparatus uses a test disk which has a plurality of test tracks distributed over the recording area and containing special test signals, a distinction being made between orientation, adjustment and azimuth bursts. Based on the normal position of the recording tracks of the magnetic disk, the spacing of the test tracks could depend on the type of step motor if such a motor is used in the positioning device. By special control, hysteresis errors can be measured in addition to tracking errors, eccentricity errors and azimuth errors.An advantageous use is for all types of disk drives, preferably FlexyDisk drives.
