摘要: A method performed by a network device includes receiving a request for a service or an application and determining a type of the service or the application selecting a frequency band to provide the service or the application from among multiple frequency bands, where a selection of the frequency band is based on the type of the service or the application. The method further includes providing the service or the application on the selected frequency band.

摘要: Different access networks may perform signaling and data delivery (bearer connection) for communication services. A device may determine, in response to a request for a service from a user of the device, whether the device is connected to a non-cellular access network. The device may transmit, when it is determined that the device is connected to the non-cellular access network, one or more control messages, relating to establishment of the service, using the non-cellular access network. The device may transmit, when it is determined that the device is not connected to the non-cellular access network, the one or more control messages, using a cellular access network. The device may establish, with a party with which the service is to connect, a bearer connection for the service over the cellular access network.

摘要: A method may include monitoring available radio access networks for information on one or more of types of radio access technologies, measurements of signal quality, measurements of signal strengths, or carrier identifiers of the available radio access networks; calculating network priorities for the available radio access networks based on the monitored information; detecting a border condition, the border condition based on a decrease in the measurements of signal quality or the measurements of signal strength; selecting, when a border condition is detected, a new radio access network from the available radio access networks based on the calculated network priorities of the available radio access networks; and connecting to a communication channel using the selected available radio access network.

摘要: A system comprising: one or more server devices to: set a first network threshold level for determining network congestion in a network; set rate limiting criteria for determining when one or more subscribers will be rate limited; detect an increase in network congestion at a base station above the first network threshold level; identify one or more subscribers meeting one or more of the rate limiting criteria; rate limit network traffic associated with the one or more subscribers; detect a decrease in network congestion at the base station below a second network threshold level; and remove the rate limiting of the network traffic associated with the one or more subscribers.

摘要: A mobile device may monitor availability of access networks that provide connectivity for the mobile device. The mobile device may also store preference information, on a per-application basis, relating to preferences for using the access networks by applications executed by the mobile device. The mobile device may additionally select, in response to a request from an application to connect to the network, one of the access networks, based on the preference information for the application; and provide a communication channel for the application using the selected access network.
