摘要: A method include forming an initial bitmap from the de-duplicated data on virtual volumes, sorting discrete blocks according to frequency of occurrence to form a revised bitmap to first include a plurality of most common discrete blocks, creating a physical volume map from the revised bitmap, reviewing, from the physical volume map, an initial virtual volume of the virtual volumes contained on a corresponding original physical volume, to determine whether moving the initial virtual volume to a different physical volume reduces the total number of data blocks in the physical volume map, deleting the initial virtual volume from its corresponding original physical volume and adding the initial virtual volume to the different original physical volume to create a revised physical volume map including revised physical volumes, and writing the revised physical volumes to the target set of physical media using the revised physical volume map.

摘要: A database of action plans carried out by a service provider is provided that stores the action plan as a series of action codes as well as the associated information such as error code, error type and whether the action plan resolved the problem. When an error occurs and is reported automatically, the database is searched for the error that occurred. Action plans as well as success rates are collected with most probable solutions being presented first. Each action code in the action plan corresponds to a particular point in maintenance documentation that is stored, e.g., on a management console, at the customer location. After reporting the error, the management console receives action plans for the error based on actual service reports as well as action plans suggested by documentation. When a service representative accesses the management console for information about the error, appropriate documentation is presented for each step in the action plan, allowing the service representative to follow along the suggested action plans and associated maintenance documentation onsite.

摘要: Mechanisms, in a data processing system, are provided for performing a data management operation. These mechanisms identify one or more defined groups of data elements that are a target of the data management operation. One or more previously generated snapshot files associated with the one or more defined groups are identified and a determination is made as to whether at least one previously generated snapshot file of the one or more previously generated snapshot files associated with the one or more defined groups is able to be reused when performing the data management operation. The data management operation is performed based on the determination of whether at least one previously generated snapshot file of the one or more previously generated snapshot files associated with the one or more defined groups is able to be reused when performing the data management operation.

摘要: A thermal processor including a rotatable hollow drum including a drum core having an interior surface and an exterior surface, and a radiant heater positioned within an interior of the drum and configured to provide radiant energy to heat the drum, wherein at least one radiant energy absorption characteristic of the interior of the drum varies across its longitudinal width Wd so that selected areas of the interior of the drum absorb more radiant energy than other areas of the interior of the drum so as to compensate for non-uniform heat loss from the drum and to provide the exterior surface of the drum core at a desired temperature which is substantially uniform across the longitudinal width of the drum core.

摘要: A high capacity ice making machine comprising a plurality of ice producing mechanisms, each of which is provided with a plurality of ice forming molds or cups having a rotatable water spray bar located therebelow for communicating make-up water from a water sump toward the molds during a freezing cycle. The ice producing mechanisms are arranged in two tandem pairs and communicate ice produced during the freezing cycle into a common ice storage bin located therebelow. The refrigeration systems associated with each of the ice producing mechanisms employ a common refrigerant condenser which is mounted by means of a hinge arrangement whereby to permit movement of the condenser between a normally closed position and an open position to provide access to the interior of the ice making machine for purposes of inspection, maintenance and the like.

摘要: An improved injector pump (10) is the subject matter of this application. The pump (10) includes a piston (44) freely disposed for reciprocation within a chamber (32). The piston (44) has an aperture (62) extending axially therethrough. A valve member (96) is disposed within the aperture (62) for rotation therein. Means are provided for rotating the valve member (96) between first and second positions, and operating fluid is channeled to opposite sides of the piston (44) depending upon the position of the valve member (96). Means (114, 118, 122, 124) are provided to move the valve member (96) between its first and second positions. Plungers (50, 52) extend in opposite axial directions from the piston (44) to effect pumping of the product fluid.
