Abstract:
A method and apparatus for extracting useful energy from biomass fuels as part of a hybrid electricity generating thermal power plant, utilising both a primary heat source, such as coal, gas, oil or nuclear power, and a secondary heat source in the form of biomass, whereby the biomass is oxidised in aqueous solution in a supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) process utilising energy from the primary heat source to heat and compress a feed stream of water to a temperature and pressure at or beyond its critical point.
Abstract:
A window support assembly is provided having a first plate, a window panel with first and second sides and a high modulus of elasticity cured resin first layer bonded to and disposed between the first plate and the first surface of the window panel. The assembly may include a latch fixed to the plate or a second plate fixed to the other surface of the glass. A fastener or fasteners may compress the first and second plates together.
Abstract:
According to some embodiments, data is received indicative of a plurality of insurance claims submitted in connection with insurance policies. A rules driven claim processing engine may then apply a first exclusion filter to the received plurality of claims, wherein the first exclusion filter operates to remove claims from the received plurality of claims to create a first subset of claims. A second exclusion filter may then be applied to the first subset of claims, wherein the second exclusion filter operates to remove claims from the first subset of claims to create a second subset of claims. It may then be automatically arranged for the second subset of claims to be processed via an expedited claim processing workflow.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a starch and fiber mixture, and the application of a starch and fiber mixture in paper manufacturing. The starch and fiber mixture is applied to a paper mat, after the paper mat is formed. The starch and fiber mixture may be obtained by the selective filtering of white water from the papermaking process, particularly by use of a pressure screen.

Abstract:
An exhaust stack system for a muffler having an exhaust stub pipe including a self-holding taper on the outer diameter of the exhaust stub pipe. The exhaust stack pipe also has a self-holding taper on the inner diameter of the proximal end so as to matingly connect to the taper on the exhaust stub pipe. Preferably a securing mechanism holds the exhaust stack pipe in proper orientation with the muffler stub pipe. In a preferred embodiment, the securing mechanism further includes a spring clip member. The exhaust stack pipe has a longitudinal slot approximate the taper and the muffler stub pipe has a hole in alignment with the longitudinal slot so that a hooked end of the spring clip can fit through the longitudinal slot and into the hole. In another embodiment, the securing mechanism is a screw through the exhaust stack pipe and the muffler stub pipe.
Abstract:
An improved pipe-moving apparatus is disclosed having a pipe-insertable elongate member which is articulated for ease of use, particularly for pipe laying near trench ends. In a preferred form, the elongate member has a series of at least two carrier members pivotably interconnected end-to-end, with the proximal end of such series of carrier members attached to the controlling mechanism, and structure supporting the carrier members in alignment when the carrier member series is suspended by its proximal end. A highly preferred embodiment accommodates the removable insertion of one or more additional carrier members in the series to extend the length of the elongate member.
