    摘要: A method is provided for labeling a job in a printing system. The method includes the steps of partitioning the job into a first set with a plurality of electronic pages and a second set with a plurality of electronic pages; storing a first electronic label and a second electronic label in memory; and displaying, on a display screen, a print outline with a selected identifiable area, the selected identifiable area being positionable on the print outline for representing a relative size, location and orientation of an area on a print upon which an electronic label is to be printed. In practice a first location, at which a copy of the first electronic label is to be printed on a first selected print resulting from the printing of the plurality of electronic pages of the first set and a second location, at which a copy of the second electronic label is to be printed on a second selected print resulting from the printing of the plurality of electronic pages of the second set, are indicated with the print outline. In response to such indication, a first print set, with the copy of the first electronic label applied on the first selected print at the first location, and a second print set, with the copy of the second electronic label applied on the second selected print at the second location, are produced.

    摘要: An electronic reprographics/printing machine with at least one scanning array for converting images on documents to image signals, a document tray for holding a stack of the documents to be scanned, a document transport to bring the documents from the tray to the array for scanning, a controller, an input device such as a keyboard, mouse, touch display, etc. for programming in programming parameters with an associated separator code, a control sheet with a bar code representation of the same separator code for interleaving with the documents for scanning by the array, a bar code discriminator for distinguishing documents with bar codes from documents without bar codes, a bar code reader for reading the bar code to identify the separator code thereon, and a control to match the separator code obtained from the control sheet with the separator code associated with the programming parameters whereby the controller operates the machine in accordance with the program parameters.

    摘要: There is provided a document processing system including at least one document reproduction apparatus and managing on-demand output of a document job. The document job is characterized by a set of job attributes with each job attribute relating to a manner in which the document job is to be processed by the document processing system. The document processing system, which further includes a document server for managing conversion of the document job into the on-demand output, includes: a plurality of queues mapped to a plurality of document processing subsystems, each of the plurality of queues including a set of queue attributes characterizing the extent to which each document processing subsystem mapped to one or more of the plurality of queues is capable of processing a job portion delivered to the one or more queues. The document processing system further includes a queue utility communicating with the plurality of queues. The queue utility compares the set of job attributes and each set of queue attributes to generate a set of information corresponding the set of job attributes with those queues, among the plurality of queues, that are capable of completely processing at least a portion of the document job. In practice, at least a portion of the document job is corresponded with one of the plurality of queues based on the set of information generated by the queue utility.
